Why can't we be decent people?

Sorry Denver_Max, but the world doesn't work that way. Internet doesn't create anything or cause anything. All it does is bring a lot of people together.

Humanity as a whole is too dumb for understanding the value of respect, humility and altruism. On Internet, you just give as much power to the dumb jerk than to the nice fellow. The more people you bring together, the more dumb jerks you get. Of course, it works both way, but the nice fellows usually avoid forums because it's a place where dumb jerks really stand out.

As for me, I am both the jerk and the nice fellow. I will let you choose which one I am.
