    The problem is, there's no differentiation between crafting classes and battle classes; everyone can be everything. That means if tomes are easier to get as a crafting class (even if you don't like crafting), a battle-heavy player can (and probably will) cap the class in less than a week and farm tomes without having to deal with DF players, organizing groups, running through dungeons, waiting through queues, etc.

    Further justification that gathering/crafting classes and battle classes should've been separated from the beginning to create more reliance and interaction between player specializations.

    It's almost as if they could just add a new type of currency used by crafters for crafting items...

    I guess we could just complain about dungeons or something some more though.

    In fact you are right, current cross-skills make it a facepalm to HQ every stuff with white gear, but the only stop you get before facepalming every stuff to HQ is the required Craftmanship or Control to even start a craft.
    And since those needed stats is really easy to obtain (with or w/o food) I dont see a point of putting a new crafters gear ingame as long as they dont increase the needed stats in any way.

    They could add lvl 50 DoH Leves that rewards Tome of Philosophy in a reasonable amount. This would help consume high level crafting materials, it's limited since you only get a fixed amount of allowances per day. It would allow for more availability of ilvl70 gear which would in turn become a commodity as they could be assimilated into tier IV materia. This wouldn't replace dungeon runs because getting 100 tomes per dungeon would still be the best ratio to gather Tomes of Philosophy while also getting Mythology. Players could queue for duty and craft for some tomes while waiting.

    Nope, for the most part, color has nothing to do with stats. Most games that have rarity colors, items of the same ilvl but different rarity will have a different level of stats. Not so here. Rarity Color is just that, Rarity.

    Would love Darklight Crafting and Gathering gear! Even if it is priced at the same rate as regular DL... it could be IL70 gear for crafting, allowing an easier time to hit the HQ on i70s. Either that or make the iL60 gear in one of the new dungeons be Crafter/Gatherer gear.

    I'm always for giving crafters love. There's so much untapped potential in the crafting/gathering in this game it makes me sick. I'd love to see repairs revamped so I can get them from crafters (once again). I'd love to see content where DoW/M have to work with DoH/L in dungeons. And yes, I'd love to see the ability for crafters and gatherers to earn tomes to purchase gear for their professions.
