So my question is I paid for the 180 day subscription do I have to wait until that is up just to extend my subscription. If yes, than I feel I have screwed myself from getting the 270 day veteran rewards until like next year lol.

Why would you think that you've screwed yourself? When it comes to the subscriptions, you can only pay for a period of 1, 3 or 6 months at a time. The only way to pay up front, is by using gamecards (which as far as I know are not available in every region) and on top of that, the veteran rewards for 180 days (and up) haven't been released yet.
Credit goes to Niqo'te for her fabulous art in the "Nique's happy fun time!"-thread and Nix/Capa for the Caitlyn drawing to the right. \(^_^ )/

That`s why I only paid for 3 months. Just enough to get all current veteran rewards.
You will have to wait until your time runs out though to get the newer veteran rewards. So if you paid for 1 month you can`t get the 3 month until you pay for that amount of time. You haven`t screwed yourself at all.
Screwed in that he/she cannot get the 270 day rewards the day they are released is what he/she means. Unless SE adds an extension option or adds time cards for NA. 270 rewards are released with 2.1 but if you subscribed for 180 you won't be able to get them until March?

Yes that is exactly what I am saying and I am on a Japanese server to they have time cards there?
http://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/commen..._jp_time_card/ looks like they do.
You can top up whenever you like with time cards, but you can have a max of 180 days at a time. so no one will have 270day reward as soon as it is released. fastest anyone can get it is roughly 90days after they started taking subs.
Ah really? Learn something new everyday. NA doesn't have time cards so I had no idea how they work.
