Lower FATE EXP (a bit) and especially company seal reward (a lot) and give NO EXP for individual FATE mobs killed.
At the same time, boost party EXP and chain bonus for normal mobs.

    That's what I would try.

It's just sad if you join a lvl50 dungeon and your tank obviously has no clue what he's supposed to do because there was little need to tank while leveling.
I blame FATEs for the, sometimes incredibly bad, performance of players in a normal party situation, because all they experience during the leveling process is running from one spot to the next as fast as possible and try to hit as many mobs as they can.

Don't have to be good or even competent as long as you have instant queue times for every new party. After they reach 50 and have the scenario completed, they'll swap to the class they wanted to play and farm fates until they pass out.

You may be catching the players from the above scenario and they care little for others, let alone how the people they screw over feel about it.

Ah the good old dont know how to play their job excuse. this is complete and utter bs. it is not fates that cause people to be not skilled in their class. it is their lack of wanting to experiment with their rotations. Ive seen plenty of people in dungeons for lower levels that just sit and spam 1 thing because they are just grinding the dungeon for xp. A person has to want to learn their class for them to be considered good in your eyes.
And SE isnt listening to the vocal few because the vocal many like fates and want to keep it that way. SE is being a smart business and tweeking them to better suit your wants while still not nerfing them into the ground like the vocal few want. Y would they please 2% of the population and piss off 98%?

You get company seals which get you armor and promotion I don't understand how people fate grind to 50 and still don't have all their GC accessories/wpn and the good gear. You also get an item that lets you reallocate stats, gain more experience when lvling DoL/DoH and may other things with GC seals so fates actually have are very useful and wonderful reward system and seals are in fact the number one reason I do fates, so that day when I finally lvl a craft I have enough seals to buy all the +50% I need. Also you buy odin/behemoth items in Mor Dhone so again if you think there are no rewards you are very very mistaken and are missing a huge chunk of the game. Fates are way less trivial for grinding on lizards for 21 hours in valkrum dunes to gain 5 levels. At least with fates I Get the occasional storyline/lore information. A small amount of gil, good xp, and company seals. Your argument of how fates kill the game has no logic in that all you say is they kill the game but you don't say how. that's the problem you are just stating I hate, and I know a few others that hate, and there for all fates suck. That's not an argument its an egocentric fallacy that the any business will ignore, psyc/business101 dude. People who haven't played 1.0 are being given the ability to catch up to 1.0 players, i'm sorry you don't like this. It sucks that I didn't have a pc that could handle 14 during 1.0 but now I have a better job and do, I'm already punished by missing storyline that they removed for no reason. You should be able to watch 1.0 in your inn. You can also xp grind in between fates I have had several fate party's who go bang out ff11 style between fates, well more like aoe everything style. But fates don't ruin the game, poor players who can't accept their flaws and have superegos claiming them self to be a God and be above logic and reason and facts, are the ones who do, you kill it.

People not knowing their jobs and people doing fates is a correlation. You know what a correlation isn't? Causation.

How do you propose one level their other classes, in a manner in which you can still band together with other players, creating chances for people to meet new people, or a chance for a FC to run through the world together. Would you want to use the FFXI motto. Farm things until your fingers fell off and then in the off chance you find a notorious monster, try to fight it on your own and get ripped apart. No thanks.
    - I like the fact I can do fates to break the monotomy of questing or dungeons
    - I like the fact that fates are fun and people are most friendly in fates.
    - I like the fact that one can actually fight NMs because fates draw in such a large crowd.

The game is good as it is. If you dont like fates go play wow, let me know how that turns out for you..

I like FATES for what they are. I don't like what they're being used for (of which I'm certainly guilty too). Maybe it's because leveling isn't such a big thing in GW2, but the GW 2 equivalent was fairly well implemented.

if i read that correctly and did not screw up what you were meaning to say that correlation does not imply causation then FINALLY SOME1 AGREES WITH ME!

lol. seriously. why does no one understand that baddies are ALWAYS going to be there. you can force someone to do the old game trick of "do this and move on to next step" and they will still fail miserably in the end. Ive grinded 3 of my 4 classes on fates and ive had 0 problems with dungeon runs in pugs, shout parties, and FC parties. you know y? i WANT to learn my class. i choose to experiment in fates, not just do the aoe only trick.

Well when everyone is doing the same FATES it either dies in 5 seconds and you don't get anything or you cant see the mobs and you don't get anything. Behemoth and Odin are the biggest jokes you force every player to go to these locations to be able to hope to kill them and half the time you cant attack. Yall also said that you think once people get the gear from them that they will stop showing up will at this rate it will take forever. Having them in the game is great but you need a different method of letting us fight them. Make us farm materials and be able to pop them like in FFXI or make them in a dungeon. It would be alot more fun if we could fight them in an organized party it would be more chalenging and more fun.
