This deserves to be spammed in every response in this thread. Linkshells exist for a reason and it is such a helpful tool. Start a new party, make a linkshell, invite the top performers. Rinse and repeat until you have about 10 people. Before you know it, you just made a semi-static of good players that should get you through Turn 4. That doesn't even count well run FCs that have a pool of raiders and are actively managing each Coil static.

The only time I will even entertain the idea of bringing a newcomer into one of my static raid groups is if most of that static raid group is new. Resources are provided for understanding mechanics (in the form of Youtube video tutorials) and leaders are available for additional questions, but from there it's up to the group.

Any sort of initiative seems totally lost on the upcoming Coil raiders. It's potentially a side effect of all of the Titan HM sales, which I do not regret making very popular at all. People just need to come down much harder on those who basically request to be carried through content.

I actually agree with almost all that you have posted although i know a lot of people are hesitant when it comes to starting up new groups, one of the great thing's about being an FC / LS is the ability to draw from the experiences of others when it comes to trying things.

As long as people aren't being thrown to the wolves when it comes to attempting content most probably wouldn't mind starting or leading their own groups when they have a person or two who has completed it around to show them the ropes on a personal level, I'd like to assume that most people aren't asking for a carry but merely some guidance or a point in the correct direction.

I think we all know the frustration of paving our way through content for the first time, and to be honest one of the issues i have with coil is that I'm unable to go back and help other groups when they're struggling.

I believe that is intended. My guess is that Yoshi wants people to organically pass the content on their own merit, unlike Titan HM. I agree with that design decision.

Coil really isn't all that hard when you understand the mechanics. Mechanics are easily taught via videos. From there it's just execution, which *shouldn't* be hard. Yet for whatever reason, it is for a lot of people.

While i agree with your statement, something about the "Go watch a video" approach has always bothered me, personal experience in both learning and teaching has always given me the impression that being in an instance to evaluate where things are going wrong from a first person perspective has yielded better results.

Obviously this greatly varies from person to person however.

They always have the choice of grouping up with everyone else who hasn't done it before, 'not' watching the helpful videos that not SE, but us players have posted in order to assist others to make things easier on them if they get stuck..... and actually learn the mechanics through trial and error like the rest of us have who beat the content and found our own way just like in any videogame 'before' strategy guides were put out there for the encounters.

We can't all be captain save'a'ho.

I actually addressed this on the previous page lol

The idea is to understand the mechanics but form a strategy around those mechanics individually, within each static group. I can't tell a group running a BLM/SMN to play the same way a BRD/BRD/DRG plays. That won't work.

Also, it's just too much work to have a video from the perspective of every possible job on every turn.
Yeah that's kind of what i meant, there are things on a personal mechanic level that cant always be understood from a video or rather would require WAY too much work to properly document.

In a perfect scenario players should be able to view a video and properly replicate the actions / strategy shown however this is rarely if never the case.
