When you cast your robe lifts slightly and shows your naked legs. Still looks bad.

But yes, I did get rather surprised to see that they really are nothing but very tiny miniskirt... I thought they were full length pants.

As true as that is, I think for the purpose of not looking awful in every possible battle situation I believe they must be changed.

The only thing I don't like about Darklight Breeches of Healing is that they show as tights. I like the design. It reminds me of the Mahatma top from XI.
