This is an interesting idea, though with more and more people potentially doing this it is less and less likely to be effective. Additionally, can you point to some sort of confirmation that the duty finder actually prioritizes your own server first? Now that I think about it, it may well be the case given that I've run into people on my server quite often, but is this just an assumption of yours or has SE actually said this is how it worked?

Aside from that, this is certainly not "problem solved". The player base shouldn't have to use workarounds like this (that aren't even guaranteed to work) just to be able to play together. This and the Coil lockouts cause unnecessary tension in FCs when people are inevitably forced to sit out from doing an event and could be easily alleviated if the players stopped just accepting these things and demanding a fix from SE.

it works...sometimes. i have had FC members replace dropped PUGs by using the DF's "join session in progress" function. it worked 9/10 times.

i have also queued up with a warrior for brayfox that was standing 10 feet away from me. we were not in the same party.

That's more to do with the fact that most people don't use "Join in Progress", rather than queueing at the same time.

This isn't a problem solved as 24 raid queues should be implemented but this is a very good fix. The chance of another 24 man group queueing up at the EXACT same time in German or French (in an English-dominant server) is extremely unlikely. If the queue timers don't pop at the exact same time (organize this over some voice program) then just decline the queue and try again.

I can't direct you to a link, but Yoshida stated himself (when all the congestion and DF instances being reserved issues happened) that this is how DF matches players together. It is prolly still somewhere in the forums, but I don't really feel like browsing through hundreds and hundreds of Dev posts xD

@CalvatE: You end up with english players, cause you couldn't be matched with JPs in a reasonable time. As you said it is a preference, but it won't let you queue for hours if there is no one from that language available, instead he just matches you with players who queue for the same thing. If 3 groups queue up at the same time with a specific language picked there should be a very high chance of those 3 groups getting into CT together.
