Since end of april 2011, there are spawning 2 NPCs around every 41h realtime and ongoing (July, 17, 2011). I had recently some free days and could verify this estimated timewindow very well. (Estimated by myself months ago)
We have Alfgar in Uldah infront of the well of the adventures guild near the repair NPC Gogorano and Roysia at Camp Horizon under the canopy of the tent.
Alfgar is up only 50 realtime minutes and Roysia only 15 min. If Alfgar is up, Roysia will spawn exactly 20 min later after spawn of Alfgar or will not be present. Both NPCs can spawn individually. It is possible, that only Roysia is there and as i mentioned only Alfgar or both. The spawntimes are also individually for every server, so the only constant are the 41h around.
To get the achievement, speak with Alfgar or Roysia. That's it. Speak with only one of the two NPCs and you got it. Alfgar has even 2 options, which you can choose from. It doesn't matter. You can speak with him again and again and every time you got both options offered.

Topic Urianger Augurelt: This GM is a player and introduced the event at the beginning with some cryptic shouts about ongoing changes of the world. This GM could shout either in english, japanese, french or german and give some random buffs. The player spawned either near Alfgar or Roysia. The last sighting of the GM, which I know, was way back at the beginning of June on Rabanstre. I don't know when the GM spawned on Istory the last time. I really tried to get a screenshot from him or ask him, if he is a student and get paid for some action or one of the developers. This never happened. Forget about him.

Many of us know about Urianger Augurelt and the "Prophecy".
But only some know, that a second NPC called Alfgar is giving you an achievement for your lodestone entry.

This Alfgar seems to be spawn only at the Uldah Adventurers Guild if Urianger Augurelt is in Uldah too. Augurelt could be anywhere but not Alfgar, so no Achievment without him.
I got recently some posts, that some chars spotted Urianger Augurelt.
Unluckyly i have never spotted the GM nor this Alfgar on my Server Istory and i know only one confirmed spawn on Istory at the beginning of May.
The few timepoints, which i could gather, are telling me, that Augurelt is never on the same Server at the same time. I couldnt conclude if there are 16 day cycles (1 game year).

My idea is, we make a list of actual spawns per server. Maybe we get an idea when he is there.
I only know about one recent spawn (yg entry: he is up atm May 28th 5:15pm EST - half moon - clear sky - 9:00 game time). I hoped for an spawn at our server. I waited hours and hours and nothing.

My 2nd idea: This guy should spawn more recently and not one time per real life months.
Developers let us hear the prophecy more often please. This makes the story more interesting for all players. I think it is the wrong sign that only some 24/7 elitist players have heard about the prophecy. In my case i feel dumped, although im on many hours every day and often in Uldah, i havnt spotted those NPCs.

I'm yet to see the elusive arcanist GM or what they leave behind.

Are there any patterns to their appearance to speak of?

Talking about it...the rate we receive deaspected crystals seems to have raised alot since 1.17b. I'm getting them even at gathering now.

I wonder if this event will properly start at patch 1.18...

You have heard rumors of suspisicious individuals appearing near aetherytes and prophesizing the end of the world.

I got this one. I also took pics of the GM, I should really post them. The gear they wear is really awesome (it only shows that they are wearing wither gear, but it looks way different)

Alfgar just spawned around 5pm eastern at (6,3) in Uldah... spouting his nonsense... crazy homeless person!

Which server did he spawn? At 5 pm EST he was not at Istory. It's the 3rd time, i have heard 5 pm. Let's suggest this is the normal log on time for this GM or his schedule.
Let's further suggest, he has a schedule and it goes in an alphabetival order (servername), every real day one server at 5 pm.
So we really need to know, which server he was on.

Also i tried to call a GM. Topic : Prophet. I was writing a text about non believers, called Uriander and hoped this GM is coming. This text was responded by an astonishing standard sentance: "We can't help...." Who has thought this? SE wasnt even smart enough to respond atleast with something other than that.

Well, if Uriander is a scripted NPC by a trigger would mke more sense, but htere is no trigger. Otherwise we had seen him more often. E.g selling deaspected crystals or something like that.

I also was informed, that Uriander was spotted at Horiizon and Alfgar spawned alone in Uldah. Normally trustworthy char. I would just mention it here.

thats just your perception, you could always get via gathering

I found him at 8am one morning and got my achievement

I got the achievment by waiting for the NPC to show up at Horizon. Talked to rosia*however you spell it. The one who claims the prophets are false and need to be dealt with. She spawned under the tent at Horizon. Then the GM spawned shortly after and i stood around him until he dissapeared. Never spoke with Alfgar.
