    BCoB - Dreadnoughts

In BCoB Turn 4, you get waves upon waves of Clockwork Soldiers, Knights and Dreadnoughts

The interesting thing I've noticed is that the Dreadnoughts have the exact same look as the Dreadnoughts in FFXIII

    BCoB Clockwork Dreadnoughts -

    FFXIII Dreadnoughts -

Was this intentional or unintentional? might this point to something in the works like Hydaelyn is actually Gran Pulse or perhaps the devs simply reused the same model in FFXIII for FFXIV?

I think it's just another way to show that the Allagan were very advanced in thier technology, similar to how there's all these robots in Gran Pulse where it's supposed to be a seemingly wildlife-ish area. Aside from the Lightning event there's pretty much no more connection between Eorzea and the Nova Crystalis series

I think this is 100% easter egg type material.

I did wonder about this a lot too.
Since the allagan´s had the technology to create a manmade moon and send/shoot it into space.

Similar to how the the people in Final Fantasy XIII's realm live in a manmade moon too and lived on it (cocoon).
This was ofcourse with help of the Fal'Cie.

The soldiers and knights are also near-100% rips from FFXIII, my theory being that these models were chosen because they were finished (either from being in FFXIII or being meant to be used in the lightning fate) and could be implemented easily. Due to the time constraints of going from 1.0 to 2.0 fast, they had to create the end-game as fast as possible and since it would be the content that people would A) See last, and B) See the least, they propably had to use existing models rather than create completely new creatures.

Aside from the ADSs and Turn 5's boss, every creature in the coil is a reused model.

I'm assuming you're referring to this guy
The dreadnought as is really hasn't been seen outside 13. I would assume XIV and 13 have similar layout wich allows for nay model to be swapped in both games easily and that is probably why they pulled them and the Lightning event over.

Yeah, the FFXIII dreadnoughts indeed did look a lot like the Sweepers from FFVII, but their appearance in ARR is most likely just another example of cross-game fanservice, like FFVI magitek armour or Cid's airship being called the Enterprise.

Hydaelyn is not Gran Pulse or any other FF world/universe (after all, some people have also said it's Ivalice, FFVII's Planet, FFIII's world and others simply based on similar references), its it's own separate world and universe.

To note, in one of Lightning's FATEs she does fights a Clockwork Dreadnought. Not a Pulsework one. Given that is probably because all of those mobs have been renamed to thinks eorzeans would recognize such as "Armored Beast" for the Alpha Behemoth.

This is like an easter egg-ish cross-reference, yes. Hell, the Clockwork Soldiers behave the same way that the Pulsework Soldiers, they even stagger, bcaue if you break their physical stoneskin they actually open the core and stop attacking same way the Pulsework Soldiers in XIII open the core and stop attacking when you stagger them
