So in practice one would need to understand if an IPS contracts with these facilities to path your connection through them or not. This I do not know if ips contract their services. If they do, than technically they have an obligation to push these companies to fix their issue, but the issue solely relies on the facility themselves. You efforts should be googling the company with the high ping and contacting them directly stating they there is issues with their facility causing bad connections. I followed up with a tech support that arrives on schedules and their sole purpose is hardware related issues and anything that occurs to make sure your connection with your ISP is running smooth. When it leaves your house to go out it makes sure that is smooth, but once it starts running into facilities it technically isn't their fault in the fact that facility probably has issues that need to be fixed. So please find ways to contact these companies for NC it would be atlas.cognectco and tell them they need to fix this issue. If they do not fix this(would have to do more research), it would fall on TWC or your ISP to contact this company or find other services to use and stop contracting with them. If this occurs.

Anyone with this issue I would like you all to send me tracerts to this email donttouchmyhohos@gmail.com, but when you conduct your tracert add this to put it into a notepad form. I will send a few of the worst tracerts up to them, but you must be using TWC and you must be in the US. If your overseas, well idk how you dont expect higher pings, unless they are going through the atlas.cogentco servers, but it is kinda of hard to argue your case being over seas. (tracert xxx.xxx.xxx.xx) > "USERPROFILE%\desktop\Tracert.log" replace the x's with the ip you are tracerting before you put this into the cmd window so you can copy paste. I have been given the email for the nation wide tech support, from twc highest level of support and personally had a supervisor visit me to witness the issues thinking he was only going to swap my modem, until I showed him our issues.

My ms doubles around on the 7th 8 node, in california, so by the time it gets to canada it's really high. I told this to a level 3 supervisor for TWC, and his response was "it's out of our Jurisdiction." I told them it's been like this since launch, and it only occurs specifically with ffxiv arr. I went on to say it's not necessarily the game itself because I have friends who don't have twc and aren't getting this issue so I'm pretty sure it's twc.

TWC just came into my area this past year (taking over Insight) and they suck! not just for FFXIV but internet in general. Thanks for the info though but i'm sure mist people will get Bryson's response because honestly I don't think they know what their problem is but they know how to keep denying it exists

I hafta agree- I also had Insight and TWC took them over last year and service for all has completely been subpar. If I didn't have so many things tied up to my old email I would dump TWC like a bad habit.

If I wasnt play with an RL friend who now lives in another state and really enjoy my FC id already be gone. Im currently just levelings alts and lagging even in FATEs because its only thing I can do in this game at the moment.

I have a solution. Temporary, or permanent, depending on your personal opinion.

I am on TWC in San Diego and have recently been experiencing the problems you have been talking about. It was never good, but used to be playable with a constant ping of ~100.

I am trying the 30 day free trial of WTFast, it puts you on their VPN to optimize your route and also does the same stuff Leatrix does (make you computer transmit packets as soon as it has them instead of waiting for a big packet to send.)

I recently started getting higher average ping at 150ms with huge spikes and rubberbanding of up to 3-4 seconds. Now I have a consistent 12-14 ms ping with the rare spike up to ~80 ms.

I know you shouldn't have to do this, TWC should just undo whatever they did recently to make the game so unplayable, but at least the trial is free and it gives you 30 days to play white TWC, hopefully, gets their shit together. After that, decide if you want the added cost to continue or maybe quit the game. I haven't decided what I'll do when the trial is over yet, but it is definitely unplayable for me without WTFast.

Alright, I was hoping not to do this, but if you have timer warner cable. Here is the email I used to send the issue gbo.ctac.leads@twcable.com have fun and spam with problems ^.^ you get to by pass all the bs and send directly to the email I was given by the supervisor. It isn'ta throttling issue or technically twc themselves, it is the data centers they use to get your connection from point A. to B. my issue is with atlas.cognetco that I see on my hops.

If you're still reading this, what ip or name did you use to tracert to? .. I'm sure the info for the canada FF14 servers are out there somewhere, just I haven't found it yet. >.<

PS. I had something pretty similar start up a couple weeks back. Just lag spikes every so often. For months it was fine, but something went wrong I guess. Also on TWC from NC.

I am in the Same boat as you. I live in NC and i use TWC and for the past 3 weeks or month i have been getting some lag spikes. its only around .5 sec to a sec lag spike but its enough to make it so i cannot raid.
