    Error: 20524

    Can anyone help me? im new player and when it was updating 4/4 100% all of sudden error: 20524 what do i do? please help me out

    All right people... if you couldn't help me out at least tell me how to contact square enix? im trying to find email address to contact them. please help me out. still can't get in ff14

    Not on CD. just my computer-program files-square enix-final fantasy 14 and i see game.ver and boot.ver. game.ver is 2010.09.19.0000, boot.ver is 2010.09.18.0000 also i found patch ver... its at 1.17b. however i did change number message appear "Cannot create the C:/Programs Files/SquareEnix/FinalFantasyXIV/boot.ver file. Make sure that the path and file name are correct" what do i do now?

    You weren't very clear about your problem. Was this error during download or right after it finished? If you got it after download is finished then its possible you're having windows/antivirus firewall to be blocking the update. Always, before updating the windows (assuming vista or 7) will pop a security window that will ask for confirmation before doing it. If you take too long to confirm the patcher will give a timeout error.

    Anyway, try out the support page: http://support.na.square-enix.com/co...hp?id=902&la=1

    There, goto "Get Support" > "Contact category: Technical Support" > "Contact sub-category: Update/Patch" > "Contact Details: 20524"

    It will offer you an automated support. If it doesn't help, click at "Return to Knowledge Base Search" button at the bottom of screen and then next for SE online chat support option.

    Ok I'll try to be clear. once i double-clicked final fantasy 14, all it did was checking updating... once both hits 100% error 20524 just appeared and i hit "ok" button and everything disappeared. Yes, right after it completed. Well perhap it have do with my pc? its laptop... XPS

    So it actually didn't even start downloading? Checked patch and popped an error? I play it at laptop and it worked well so i'd assume that it isn't the laptop.

    Is your patcher a blue or red screen? If its red the game isn't being able to connect to the internet (so the patcher wasn't able to even update self) What windows is yours? Try checking this:

    Control Panel > System and Security > Windows Firewall > Allow a program to go thru firewall and yadda yadda (not sure how it is at english version of windows). There, search the FINAL FANTASY XIV BOOT at the list and check its checkbox if unchecked. If the checkbox was unchecked is because the firewall was blocking it from connecting. Once its checked, try updating it again.

    final fantasy XIV boot is checked. so what else? lol i'll look what windows im using

    What about the patcher color? Is its window blue? Because at vista and with it checked there the patcher is supposed to be able to connect.

    I'm sorry Im not good with pc... how do i find color of the patcher? you mean after i double click icon of final fantasy 14? it pop blue box for download, then updater window is gray color to 100%
