The real problem with the DF

The DF in itself is fine, but ever since MMOs started to allow cross-server dungeons, players have an added layer of anonymity, and thus, feel free to act as poorly as they want, with a fairly good chance of never running into said people again. Also without fear of having their "real" character tarnished on their server.

I know cross-servers have made wait times much better, but if they removed this part of DF, and it started to be comprised of people only on your server, I'm pretty sure a good amount of people will clean up their act.

I can't wait for the MIP system, hopefully this will help a bit.

The new party finder system will also help. So if you want to pug from your own server, it'd be much easier than shouting in mor dhona.

Not exactly a server only duty finder, but quite close I'd say.

I only play with friends anyway, but all the DF PUG issues people complain about are normal for an anonymous/cross-server instance game. The OP is right, though they'd never get rid of cross-server. The sadder alternate downside to cross-server content, IMO, is when you have a GREAT party of good players who are also good people... and then you have to go back to your server. I wish the game used megaserver tech.

People brought up this argument a lot back in WoW, but it's simply not true. Even before LFD you had plenty of trollish people and they typically got away with it because no one else cared as much as you might think. Even in FFXI which had no such system you still had people you would personally consider to be a troll who still had no problem getting into groups and participating in content because other players simply didn't care.
