mmo mouse config suggestions

so wife got me an early x-mas gift yay, she got me a logitech G600.

Cool mouse, but darn i'm so not used to so many buttons ! What's the optimal way to use it with FFXIV?

So far, I bound only a couple buttons, mostly CTRL ALT SHIFT but I find I'm getting confused and mess up sometimes.

I pilled hotbar 1-2-3-4 on top of another, using 1-6 manually and hitting the combo button with my mouse to create alt/ctrl/shift, but I get a bit confused doing that.

What do you gamers configure your mouses like ?

I have a razer with a 3x4 pattern on the side like yours. I stacked quickbars 1-4 on top of each other then created 3 grids of 3-columns x 4-rows with a space in between each. The left grid is alt + the 12 buttons, the center is just the 12 buttons, and the right is shift + the 12 buttons.

My other 2 buttons aren't on the top like yours, they are just left of the left click button. I mapped them to a couple situational things. I don't use them in battle.

Can use one for sprint. One for teamspeak or any voice services push to talk. Have one be the map etc etc.

I simply have the side buttons on my Razer Naga) bound to 1-6 on the keyboard and the two buttons on the top to 7 and 8, allowing me to keep my left hand on the movement keys (I can also hold ctrl and alt while pressing the mouse buttons for my 2nd and 3rd hotbars)

I have my M90 configured with one full hotbar on it. The buttons on the side form a sort of loose spiral, so I have 1-0 looping through them sequentially so that the button positions are easier to remember on the fly, and have "-" and "=" assigned to the two extra buttons beside my index finger for emergency skills that I don't want to hit by accident. I then just use the keyboard to alternate between which hotbar I am hitting with my mouse.

I use a G600. Mouse numpad is assigned for 1234567890+- and with 3rd mouse button pressed assigned for ctrl+ F1-F12
Hotbar1: 1234567890+-
Hotbar2: Alt+ 1234567890+-
Hotbar3: Shift+ 1234567890+-

I press Alt and Shift on the keyboard, rest on mouse pad. Easy access to 4 hotbars under one finger.

I tried the 1234567890-= to buttons method, and although I like it, especially for DPS ( less frantic on blm, the cast times lets you choose your next action button without rush)

I strugle a bit with the same config while healing as SCH though. Guess it comes with practice?

It's just that I have been a keyboard gamer for years (FFXI) and WoW (binded my extra needs to the numpad).

I'm still faster on keyboard ( for now!) but the mouse does not cramp my fingers in the awkward CTRL/SHIFT combos.

I have the G600. I set the mouse to alt + shift 1 - 0. I through out a new hotbar on the game hud and I bound all of it's buttons to alt + shift + 1 through alt + shift + 0.

I threw out another hotbar right on top of that one for ctrl 1 through ctrl 5.

Put stuff on it, use the mouse to trip them. In practice I only use 1-6 on the mouse, I find 7 through 12 to be to difficult for me to push without putting effort into it and effort = user input lag which gets me killed. 1-6 is more than enough buttons for me with alt 1-0 and ctrl 1-0 and shift + q, w, e, r, d, a, and alt, a q, w, e, d, s
