And yet.. countless other MMOs have the system where they release 2.0a, 2.0b, 2.0c, etc... in order to fix glaring problems that should be dealt with now but don't encounter game breaking problems every time they patch something in.

A lot of these bugs and problems are detrimental to a lot of players enjoyment of the game, and instead of saying "Let's fix that encounter-breaking bug for you guys" they simply tell us to wait until their magical savior patch is ready; Which, in my eyes, is a very bad way to run things especially if that's how they're always going to handle their patches.

I can also say with certainty that no matter how much internal testing they attempt to do, there will be a heaping pile of problems caused by releasing a patch like that; Though they could alleviate a lot of the problems created in patching by having a PTR as other MMOs do.

Believe me, i -want- things to run smooth and I enjoy the game when i play it.. but that doesn't mean i can't see a large difference in philosophy between this company and others. If this turns out to be moot, or even act in Square's favour in the long run, then i'll apologize and keep going.. but when a large portion of a market operates a certain way, it's not just because that's how it works out, but usually because it makes sense to run a PTR and makes sense to release smaller patches more frequently than giant patches once a quarter.
