That isn't the only issue there, I have noticed that my spells still register on bosses like Svara, but MP usage is not handled correctly, making it impossible to run out.

Can you also please take the DoT cap off these fights (including Behemoth)? As a SMN, I couldn't do anything during the fight. All I could cast was energy drain (when aetherflow was ready) and ruin the rest of the way. That's not very productive for a class that main source of damage is DoTs.

As bard on Odin I am unable to get below 920 TP. None of my attacks seem to do anything. I was able to change class mid fight so I don't think I was even generating any enmity. I have just stopped doing it now it is completely unplayable.
They do, there have been many bug fix patches. There's bug fixes in the maintenance tomorrow.

You can question the decision not to include this as a hot fix, but the process they have seems fairly sound to me from a development perspective.
Yoshida explained why they aren't doing a million hotfix/minor patches. Every time they do that, they have to run tests with the rest of the game, so if they keep doing hotfixes, it will just delay 2.1. Yoshida explained it much better, just hang in there for 3 more weeksDoesn't this sound like something that should be hot-fixed, or patched sooner.. rather than compile every problem to be solved in one magical savior patch that won't be here for another month?
Most MMO companies are able to release both content patches -and- bug fix patches without throwing the whole game into disarray, the fact that Square-Enix doesn't seem to have this capability is rather sad.
I have the exact opposite problem on Odin. I spam Blizzard 3 on him and due to the bug Hvinire mentioned my Umbral buff will never proc, meaning I could be sitting next to nothing for a good portion of the fight, even after using Convert.
I'm glad this is being fixed.
And yet.. countless other MMOs have the system where they release 2.0a, 2.0b, 2.0c, etc... in order to fix glaring problems that should be dealt with now but don't encounter game breaking problems every time they patch something in.Yoshida explained why they aren't doing a million hotfix/minor patches. A lot of these bugs and problems are detrimental to a lot of players enjoyment of the game, and instead of saying "Let's fix that encounter-breaking bug for you guys" they simply tell us to wait until their magical savior patch is ready; Which, in my eyes, is a very bad way to run things especially if that's how they're always going to handle their patches.
I can also say with certainty that no matter how much internal testing they attempt to do, there will be a heaping pile of problems caused by releasing a patch like that; Though they could alleviate a lot of the problems created in patching by having a PTR as other MMOs do.
Believe me, i -want- things to run smooth and I enjoy the game when i play it.. but that doesn't mean i can't see a large difference in philosophy between this company and others. If this turns out to be moot, or even act in Square's favour in the long run, then i'll apologize and keep going.. but when a large portion of a market operates a certain way, it's not just because that's how it works out, but usually because it makes sense to run a PTR and makes sense to release smaller patches more frequently than giant patches once a quarter.
