    Anyone pissed off by LB's?

    So I kinda hate what they did with LB's in the game, especially in that it's shared between classes. I really think that the old system with 2 hour abilities from FFXI was better in that each job had a different one. I really wish SE would do this with the jobs now and differentiate them. Hell if they brought back the summon system with separate lb's per summon, it'd be awesome. Granted, rather than a party system, this would have to be a personalized system. Anyone else feel that way?

    I just wish that they would've made LBs unique to each class, for example, give Dragoon something other than Final Heaven.

    I wonder how SAM would work with the current setup.

    LBs are good but not perfect ran WP last night with 2 bards so no offensive LB lol but I take the OPs point would be nice to have unique LBs.

    I was kind of disappointed when I found out that the strongest attack I could use didn't use my own weapon (spear, since I play dragoon). I mean: if I use a spear or my fists to fight, why would I use a sword to deal the most amount of damage?

    I think the LB system by itself is fine (except tank LB, although that could just be me since I wasn't able to find a situation in which it was actually more helpful than DPS/healer LB)...but then again I have the impression that the animations could use some improvement. Maybe made "class-specific", rather than "role-specific" - again, the in-game effects could (maybe should) remain the same, but have different animations to fit the weapon used.

    Trivial examples: Braver as a LNC/DRG would be a quick series of thrusts followed by a stronger/flashier (does that word even exist?) one; Bladedance would be a charged single thrust which pierces the enemy and goes through him, leaving behind a glowing trail for a few moments; Final Heaven could be very similar to the current one, but instead of being a massive punch it could resemble more the "Jump" abilities - or it could, at the peak of the jump, throw the spear instead of piercing the ground with it. Then PGL/MNK would have different animations too, maybe inspired to FFVIII Zell's moveset, I'm not really sure yet - but I'm sure others here will be able to suggest something cool. BLM could keep their current LB "Meteor", while SMN gets to summon a giant primal which uses a massive attack on the battlefield (maybe not Garuda/Ifrit/Titan since they already have them). I heard that Companies will be able to do that at some point, but I do not know the details of it yet, so I'm not sure about that. Current Healer LB seems to be ok with WHM, maybe SCH could instead summon a fairy swarm (or something more summon-related) which takes care of the party, and the size of this swarm would increase at each LB level. I'm afraid I have no ideas about Tank LB...mostly because summoning giant axes instead of shields seems kind of silly. I hope anyone here has better ideas.

    I don't know if any of the developers will ever read this post, I just thought I'd throw this idea and hear anyone's opinion on it. I know that changing the animations for each class won't be easy, and it certainly is a whim considering other priorities (especially on the "eve" of the 2.1 patch), and that right now it would be a shame to just take out the current animations (unless you were to introduce sword-using DPS...*wink*), so...yeah, that's all. I hope it's not a stupid suggestion.

    I like the current system and am fine with it as is, but I agree with this. It would be kinda nice to see new animations for the limit-breaks depending on the class (and I mean class, not job) using it. Like PGL would get access to Beat Rush at rank 1, Dolphin Kick at rank 2, and then keep Final Heaven for the rank 3.

    I don't know, I feel like there's more you can do within the current system. Animation differences within Dragoon and Monk, while still doing massive single target damage is great, but have it be burst for dragoons and multiple hits for monk, and leave that party with a 20 second buff based off class afterwards. Bard shouldn't have a healing lb, they should have a buff or something of the like, maybe infinte tp/mana for a period of time. scholar's could differentiate by fairy, a healing regen buff with Eos and a speed buff with Selene. White Mage's could have an invulnerability buff while the heal goes off. Tank LB's could be put to more use, givng damage reduction to paladin, and instead giving an hp bonus to Warriors. I really wish they brought back different limits for the different summons for summoner (titan was a stone skin, ifrit was single target burst, first to hit 9999 damage cap in game, garuda was a magic aoe and speed buff? (forget).
