So you say, if you enter a level50 instance, and your gear is over ilevel55, it should be synched to ilevel55?The same people who wouldn't want their level, which they spent time grinding for, to be synced down to 20 or 30 or whatever.
If level is already being synced, why not ilvl as well? It makes little sense for such a feature to only be applied to early- to mid-game content and not end-game content as well.

I wouldn't say 55 exactly, but close enough that the content can still be somewhat challenging.
The whole point of syncing levels was to keep higher level players from carrying lower level players through instances. They wanted the groups to have to work together, so it just doesn't make sense for all of that to be thrown out the window at level 50. Groups can still be carried because ilvl continues to grow even if level does not.
Either it doesn't matter and level syncing should be done away with altogether.. Or it does matter and ilvl should be synced as well. You cannot justify one without also justifying the other.

Level sync was made so people could drop level to play with people who were LOWER level. Level 50 people are level 50 regardless of ilevel of equipment.
Also @vuduy the title of this thread is totally wrong. Nothing is broken, just because you do not like something doesn't mean it is broken.

No, because being synced was only a prerequisite SE decided on. If you weren't synced, you'd still be able to play with your level 20 friend in a level 20 instance at level 50.
You have to look at the reason why level syncing exists in the first place. SE didn't want players who were over-leveled participating in instances because they'd have too much of an advantage.
.. but the same applies to ilvl. Someone who is over-geared in level 50 instances will have a huge advantage. So why not force them to sync as well?
It doesn't make sense that it applies only to level when ilvl is just as important. Both should be synced or neither should be synced. To keep it as it currently is solves only half the problem SE thinks exists.
If you were level 50 helping a level 25 group would any of those people get exp for anything you killed while being partied with them? No, because being synced was only a prerequisite SE decided on. Does ilevel effect exp gain?

Levels make a much bigger difference than gear. An ilvl 90 person is not like a lvl 90 person doing a 50 dungeon. No, because being synced was only a prerequisite SE decided on. If you weren't synced, you'd still be able to play with your level 20 friend in a level 20 instance at level 50.

The sync exists to stop griefing and helps to not make dungeons a farce. It's also important to balance xp gains.
Being well geared in a 50 dungeon is nothing compared to overleveling it.
Also, gear at 50 is the only way of character progression (in terms of power) at 50. Don't force people to be brought down after they made an effort to improve.
Have you never wondered why zones aren't level synced? Or mobs? I don't think SE sees level sync as the base design of the game, where everything is always equally powerful, including the Cactuar outside Ul'dah.
This is really not a big deal, and even if they added the feature then it should be optional. Why can't people compromise?
