Problem is that when you get the higher level gear, you throw away your old gears; so when you go with your friends who have i90 gears, they are too strong in party which ruin their friend's first time experiences because of the broken level sync system.
Every gear that is over level 20 (level requirement, not ilevel) get level-synched in a level 15 dungeon.
You would not see a level 50 gear level-synched in a level 50 dungeon.
I thought you can't throw away AF gear?

hmm it would cause much frustration, getting all the gear and not being able to use it's full power at some points.

Why not throw your AF on when ya go to help your buddies?Wow I'm surprised that so many of you like no-challenge contents? Is it fun for you to kill CM or Praetorium wearing i90 sets?
Why do you think they put in a level sync system in the first place? Why not allow level 50 helping level 15/20 clear their dungeons without syncing so it'd be very easy?
You could also carry some white 49 accessories, and buy a GC weapon. Problem solved, and you didn't need SE's help.
one of the problems face GW2 it's the fact every area of the game have level synch attached: it doesn't matter if you're max level with full epic, whereever you go if isn't a max level area you'll get synchet, and of course your equip too.
While this sound a good thing, it actually destroy any sense of satisfaction in gearing up: no matter where you go, you'll run in that map with the same aggro you had at that level, with the same power you had at that time, feeling like you wasted time getting gear.
What's the point in synch the equip even in lvl 50 istances ? What's the point to farm for my full allagan gear and weapon if i can use it to full only inside coil ? Is that supposed to be a joke ?
I already suggested the same, but i guess i will need to bump my topic.
It is not that we find it fun to faceroll WP/CM/PRAE/AK with our iLvl 90 weapons, it is that the game encourages/forces us to. Both WP and AK drops myth which we need to gear up and PRAE/CM our FC members need help with and/or we farm them for Philo.
Most of us do not find facerolling a dungeon the 100.000.000.000th time we do it funny, but what we would find even less fun would be getting the gear we worked to get the other 99.999.999.999 times synced down making our 100.000.000.000th run as hard as our first run. That would make us feel like we did not progress at all.
So much nope.
We need a challenge mode system that utilizes ilvl syncing and actually puts to use the utterly idiotic timer. It'd make for a fun diversion, with some nice vanity/cosmetic/bragging rights rewards.
The same people who wouldn't want their level, which they spent time grinding for, to be synced down to 20 or 30 or whatever.
If level is already being synced, why not ilvl as well? It makes little sense for such a feature to only be applied to early- to mid-game content and not end-game content as well. After all, I also want to be carried through Sastasha, Tam-Tara Deepcroft, Copperbell Mines, Halatali, Thousand Maws of Toto-Rak, Haukke Manor, Brayflox's Longstop, The Sunken Temple of Qarn, Cutter's Cry, The Stone Vigil, Dzemael Darkhold, and The Aurum Vale, but the game is telling me I can't be. Not fair.
