PS3 Freezing issue still happening but no response from anyone as usual

I play on the PS3 and I haven't ever gotten the issues of the game freezing up. I got a 90000 error. But the game freezing? you might want'a check your internet. If you don't have a WPA password or WP2 someone could be link to your WiFi to slow down your bandwidth. I have a issue when I played White Knight Chronicles II where the game was freezing and I'm having to restart my PS3 then having to relog. So I double check and 3 people were on my WiFi. So I called my internet here in Edogawa and had them put a WPA Password on on router and I haven't had a issue anymore... I hope this kinda helps. I hope it isn't your PS3 messing up...

My game has been freezing too. Especially during high load moments, such as fate farming, primals, coil, etc. and it has only been starting to happen recently. Needs a fix pronto.

My game froze too.

During Odin !!!! He was down to 20% health and the game froze. I turned the ps3 off, then on, logged in the game, and just when things loaded, guys on my party were saying " GJ guys" and stuff.
The fight had just ended.

My PS3 also froze on the best Titan run I was having at the time.

It also froze on some early random GLA/MRD quest.


The only other game that has made my PS3 freeze is FFXIII-2.

I doubt it's Square. You have to remember that FFXIV is really, REALLY hard on the PS3. The PS3 is pretty much maxed out when running FFXIV. The freezing is more than likely the GPU going into a kernel panic do to having to load too many things at once.

What's odd is that not all PS3's have this issue. More than likely due to a manufacturing defect (PS3's have known problems with heat dissipation). Board heats up, solder becomes pliable. Board cools down, solder reforms but becomes brittle. Do this enough time, the solder between the GPU and PCB becomes weak and inefficient. Loading problems start happening and given enough time, YLOD ensues.

If you experience any of the following, you may have a solder issue with your board:

Extremely loud fan (sounds like a jet about to take off)
Freezing/hanging in dense population areas (Mor Dhona), large areas (Coetheras), or heavy animations (Titan)
Being hit by aoes but no noticeable network lag (rendering lag)

You can usually find someone willing to reflow a PS3 board for about 40 bucks. It's a fair price and you will notice improvements.

In my system telling me my data may have been corrupted. This same BS was happening with ffxi on

xbox and took forever to fix. Happens at anytime anywhere.

I've had my PS3 freeze on other games, as have my PSN friends. It's what the PS3 does best. You can't expect SE to be able to fix the PS3.

It is SE's fault for releasing ARR for the ps3 instead of releasing with PS4. And they were able to fix the constant crashe's and freezes on xbox I'm sure they can find a way on the ps3. It was truly about making money not about the players best gaming experience and pisses me off.

Not to be combative, but how would they fix it? Let's say my PS3 works just fine while yours has issues. Since software is software and carries with it checksum indexes, we can rule out that the actual software is not an issue. What's that leave us?

We know the PS3 has KNOWN issues with overheating and desoldering the GPU from the board. The mileage may vary, but with the implementation of MD5/checksum indexes, we can rule out software as being the issue. What's left? The hardware. Your copy of FFXIV is exactly the same as my own. Only one variable remains. When it comes down to electronics having issues, the lowest common denominator wins.

Why do you assume the issue has to do with over heating? I've only seen one game lock up on my 7+ year old PS3. "The Cave" occasionally locks up. It doesn't appear to be do to overheating. I can only assume these lockups are the result of an IO issue. Such as an error when paging in data from the HDD. I can only guess, of course. I suspect that should the PS3 overheat, the system would simply shut itself off to prevent irreparable damage from occurring.

If I were experiencing periodic lockups with the game, I'd delete the game and reinstall it and see if that remedies the problem.

Same here, after installing the latest patch. I even had two freezes happen with a few hours in between, but nothing since then.
