What is really sad is that people have this inflated sense of development time. And how if the technology gets better, then the development time must get shorter and easier, thus content must be here NOW NOW NOW. Not to mention they add that they are "Too busy" to be bothered to wait for more stuff to be released.

"I wont bother to sub until there is something harder than coil" Translation "This game owes me!"

Warcraft's Early History (this is a long read but I will pull an excerpt that relates to this..."discussion" that seems to plague this forum.

November 23rd marks the official ninth anniversary of World of Warcraft's North American release. But the game is much older than that. First announced in 2001, World of Warcraft had already been in development for two years and would require another three before seeing release. Beta testing began in 2003. It may come as a surprise to outsiders, but World of Warcraft has been an integral part of the lives of Blizzard employees for over 14 years.

Many people forget the limited state in which World of Warcraft launched. The game's first few patches, pushed live in the months immediately following release, introduced several of WoW's most iconic dungeons, the game's "Looking for Group" chat channel, meeting stones, and the PvP honor system. World of Warcraft's first two battlegrounds, Warsong Gulch and Alterac Valley, didn't go online until June of 2005, seven months after release. The game, like most new MMOs, was something of a work in progress. *emphasis mine*

In fact, when you look back through the patch history of WoW, you find that the World of Warcraft so many players lovingly refer to as "Vanilla WoW" didn't really take shape until September of 2005, when patch 1.7 introduced the Arathi Basin battleground and Zul'Gurub raid instance. While Burning Crusade, World of Warcraft's first expansion, was announced in October of 2005, it was the 16 months between September's update and that expansion's release that many WoW players consider to be the game's golden age. *emphasis mine*

Take a breath people, MMOs are made for the long haul. Be effing patient.

Yeah, lol. I mean the issues people are the most annoyed with are adressed, SE release a tiny part of "casual" content for 2.1 and yet "there's no progression im effin leavin dat game". Alright, just don't do the EX bosses to get the whole primal armor then and ultima hm / beastman dailies and of course gettin the whole pvp armor on your main, after all its not a challenging content obviously :/

New turns are added for february march along with Realm vs Realm pvp, + Leviathan and Vanity system + surely another bunch of new stuff. What does exactly oblige you to play hardcore everyday for the sake of progression and everything ? it's a mmo. Stuff go over time, just play something else while you wait.. There's ESO beta atm, Wildstar soon, Battlefield 4, free mobas and everything while you wait /yawn

That's right, simply unsub en masse and just wait patiently until more content worth paying for.

I will admit that there is a tug-of-war between early game development and content consumption. I dont think you should pay for something you aren't pleased with, HOWEVER I do believe, realistically, that it takes time to implement such diverse content (i.e my link to WoW's history).

Here's what I did. I saved up my money, and paid for 6 months subscription time after my 2 weeks free trial. This translated to 77.94 (USD). My time of deciding if the game is worth paying for will be up in Feb of next year. Now 77 bucks might seem like a lot, but about a month afterwards, I spent 260.00 bucks on a 3ds and Pokemon (so essentially 260 bucks for one game). So i'm fine with it. I also work part time and am in school.

Not all of us feel the need to rush the every loving hell out of the game. I personally am enjoying the game and this is my first FF game. The community use to scare me. (FF7/KH fans) I was skeptical about coming here and seeing xXSephirophXx420 or Sora McSwag as peoples usernames and getting crushed under the absolute absurdity of the fangirls and their need for yaoi.

I always make the joke that the only reason certain FF titles didn't do well is because their was no painfully obvious yaoi couples.

This content isn't going into the game just to appease our progression needs as people who have played for awhile. MMO's are a "games-as-a-service" model meaning that it's a continually developed product that is improved in order to have a high attach rate. While this is of little use to those of us who are already customers of this "service", it adds to a better tiered progression path for people who may come on board in the next weeks, months, years and they are just as important to SE as the 1.5 existing users. It's just an unfortunately delayed chunk of the game that didn't meet launch date and 2.2 will probably take more steps towards more advanced content. All will be ok!

I love how the argument about putting any content in the game where people who play more than 3 hours a day would enjoy doing is "Well, I don't want it so it shouldnt be in the game so that I can stay on pace with the people who dedicate more time than myself..."

I don't know why I'd do CT to gear alts when I'm already gearing alts in Coil.

I think I just figured something out.

The people complaining that 2.1 offers no new content....

What they really mean is that it offers no higher level equipment rewards.

These are not players who have successfully cleared Twintania. They're just players who farm the first 4 turns for gear. They're players who don't actually want to play and experience the game, they just want to receive the high level gear.

    *shrug*

Too bad. Guess 2.1 offers nothing for you.

Now, if you're actually interested in playing the game, I think you should take a look at the entire video of the live letter, because there is a crap-ton of stuff to actually play through
