I still don't know why poeples are so afraid of Duty finder. I still think it's the fact that 1 guild/FC on the server can't have exclusive acces to contents by ignoring other players interested in raiding.
It's not that people are afraid of the duty finder, the issue is guilds who would like to raid with more than only 7 of their friends. We were told we would be able to go in with 24, and now we're told we can't. THAT'S THE ISSUE. It has nothing to do with dealing with strangers, it's that we would like to finally be able to raid with our friends.
Rules to Life:
1: No matter how good you think you are or how good something is, it's never perfect.
2: Something that's built can always be built better. There is always room for improvement.
Rules to Software Development:
1: No piece of computer code is Ever finished, it can ALWAYS be improved. Finished is merely a state of acceptable stability.
You guys do know it will be fixed in the next patch right?
Yes not perfect but sometimes life isn't perfect.
Also yay for another thread about the same topic because everyone is speshul
For me, it's like not having any freedom. I don't like being forced to do anything against my will. And it is not my will to use the duty finder and I am being forced to use it. As such, I am dissatisfied with this announcement immensely.
On a scale of 1-100 with 1 being I'm 1 point from going back to wow and 100 being I'm 100% loyal to this game and staying here, I have now dropped to a 10 and I've been loyal to SE since the launch of FFXI and I was in FFXIV 1.0. I'm close to leaving entirely. I'm sure I'm not alone.
For a long time I've had faith in SE turning around and starting to build quality games like FF7/8/9 and FFXI again. How about Xeno Gears, Chrono Cross, and Crono trigger? However, all these let downs one after the next, my faith is crumbling.
Maybe SE just isn't the company they used to be anymore, and never will be again.
I applaud all the efforts of this game, and theres still hope for it, but all I see in the announcements anymore is one change after another I disagree with leading me to believe this game will never be the game I'd like it to be, and as such, won't play it long term.
When FFXI 1.0 was launching I told all my wow buddies how awesome it was going to be, and I even got 4 of them to try it with me. Then it was like omg lag lag lag so bad, and I was left alone in FFXIV and my freinds lost a little respect in my taste in games. Now I've done the same thing here and while I am currently still hanging on, I've lost 70% of my LS since launch to unsubs and people are disappearing and it feels like the same drop all over again.

"It'll be be fixed in the next patch" is not a good excuse when we have already waited 4 months for what was promised for launch. If SE wants people to wait another 4 months so we can actually play with our friends, then SE can wait 4 months to receive a payment.
Next patch is like 4 to 6 months away depending on how adamant they plan on sticking to their "rapid" content cycle.
Also... AINT NOBODY GOT TIME FO DAT.
I highly doubt 2.2 will take that long, more like 2-3 months at most. 2.1 is a pretty massive content update so yeah. Either way, yeah it bums me out that I cannot take 24 of my FC members into the raid yet, but you know what? I'm an adult and don't expect everything is going to be my way. I am completely happy to have new content to do.
