They may have said they won't nerf FATE exp but they sure seem to have no problem with stealth nerfing Fate spawn rates. Least that's how it seems with the latest hot fix.

Thank the lord I would rather level through spamming dungeons than mindlessly fate grinding.

FATE is better xp the more people are doing it since it takes shorter to both finish and spawn a fate with more people doing a FATE, but the amount of effort you need to get gold is relatively constant. For example when the server was new, it took less than 5 minutes to kill Svara. Now it can easily take 7.5 minutes or more to kill Svara just because less people are doing FATE, so your XP for doing that FATE is reduced by 33%. It really won't take too much XP for doing dungeons for it to be better than FATE because FATE xp decreases linearly as the number of people doing the said FATE decreases. If you ever tried to solo a FATE, you'll know that it's pretty bad XP for the time and effort needed to finish it.
This news is good if you're not a dps but if you are... Dem queue times. -_-

With the new system in the DF (Roulette and iLvl requirement and XP buff) I hope it will reduce queue time. This is mandatory because when I can only run 1 or 2 dungeons a night due tu queue time... it's pretty bad. In my 45 min queue, i could have done a whole dungeons!!!!
NoRyoKu

It will be great with addition to MVP system etc. Also queues will remain, and will be long sometimes for certain jobs and FATEs is a nice sidekick while "waiting"![]()
I'm just hoping that leveling doesn't end up being even easier with the boost to dungeon experience points. I already felt as though it was too easy and too fast to level multiple jobs.
I'm also a bit bothered that, yet again, players are looking to be forced into running dungeons for progression. I'm not sure if this is the right solution to the problem with FATEs. People already complain about having to run dungeons over and over again. On top of that, it will only serve to make places in the world look more empty as well as having people just sit around in safe zones waiting for their dungeon queue to pop. I think this could actually be more harmful than good. It seems like all it's going to do is remove players from the actual world.

People are still gonna do FATEs because in FATEs you don't have to be accountable for gear or your ability to play the game. Its just a zerg where no one really has a role and you just do whatever. In a dungeon, you have a defined role and its much easier to see if you are actually being competent or not. I feel that there will be many people who will not want that responsibility and scrutiny and would rather just still do FATEs where they can be lone wolfs doing whatever they want.

Maybe people are just bored of doing dungeons. They already do them over and over as a level 50, might as well do something else while leveling.

+1 for dungeons! I like fates, I'm glad they are in the game... but...
running with a hoard of people and tactlessly mowing them down to exp burn was not the idea. Giving them such a large advantage over dungeons effectively killed dungeons.
(My latest 3 queues on a DPS role for low level dungeons were all over an hour.) I'm just glad to see that dungeons will be back into the game.
