You CAN outsmart a scripted fight, but then it goes into the "is it an exploit or clever use of mechanics" debate.

And also, depends what you class as skill.
I classify that as : knowledge + reflex + perfect execution
Outsmarting is merely a "prediction of what may your opponent would do", sometimes you guess it right, sometimes not, basically, a wild guess.
It is like playing a game of Chess. Seeing an opponent's move, and realising what may be coming next, are merely Reflex (react to the move he did), and Knowledge (know the different move potentially coming). And even that can be scripted, ever play one of those Chess sims?
How can you be overthinking this so much and still not understand what I'm saying at all. I'll break this down for you so you can try to understand. I'll use titan for an example, and your really bad comparisons.
Say you have a full group that knows the titan fight, which is by far the most scripted pos I've ever seen. Everyone knows literally when and what skills he will use, when and what bomb formations will be dropped. The only unpredictiable thing about this encounter is whether or not someones going to get hit, dc, or who the plumes will be under (which by SE's usual standard is the top players with most threat so probably still predictable). My point here is, the programmed AI is only ever going to do exactly as it was programmed to do literally every single fight, it will never change.
Now, i'll use sports as an example. You or your oppenent can be of higher skill, equal to or less. You can have as many matches as you want, the person that has much better reflexes or strength(or whatever the hell said sport requires) has a higher chance of winning while not always garanteed, but your oppenent will never try the same thing repeatedly, to try and get an edge on you for a score/win. Point being here, they try to adapt and come up with a way to win. A scripted AI that only knows and uses a set of programmed commands does no such thing, only what they are programmed to do. You can nitpick all you want but my point still stands, scripted fights are scripted, all you need is to know your role and the fight, communicate with party and that's that, the boss itself will never have some new found plan to defeat you nor will any of it's mechanics have a random factor to throw you off.
@Hane
If that's how you feel about pve encounters, then you should probably just unsub now. This will never provide anything more than 'boring scripted encounters'. I fact you should probably go play MOBA or FPS games, that's the only place that will provide you with the experience you're looking for.
What about sports that doesn't have an opponent?
For example, Javelin, while there are other competitors, when it is your turn, it is simply you, giving it your best try, then compare your best try against other people's best try. So by your standard, there is no skill involved in most of the Athletic events? If that is the case we can stop there cause again we will never agree.
And for the Titan fight, the "skill" part for me, comes from the Knowledge (know the rotation), Reflex (move accordingly), Perfect Execution (don't get hit by anything, Medica/Shield on stomps, know to get people out but don't release them in the Landslide...etc), I already told you, I classify these 3 elements as skill. If you can't see that, then we will never going to agree, I am not going to try to change your opinion, I am just telling you this is mine, and you will never be able to change it either.
I already play MOBA & FPS quite frequently, and am quite bored with this game but unfortunately I feel obligated to use this 180 day sub I bought a few months back. So logging on for coil and whatever else gets released in that time frame next few months till it runs out is how I'm rolling now, but thanks for your concern you kind soul you.@Hane

Allagan weapons are becoming marginally better than Relic +1. Fifty more pages for this cry thread, please. It is warranted.
this make perfect sense as it happens in the real world anyway , whether u like it or not.I just dont understand the mindset here. If you spend years rising through the ranks to become a manager at a corporation, and then a few days later, someone in the mail room got promoted to the same position as you with the same pay, you cant say you wouldnt be pissed. no matter how you apply this logic, real life or otherwise, it makes 0 sense.
They were probably joking, we have offered to sell coil runs before in wineport for millions just as a joke.
Seriously what if the guy getting carried parks a conflag on half the group? Gets targeted for a divebomb and throws Twintania into the group? Hugs another party member on twisters and plants it on them? It's not a carry if you need the guy buying the run to actually know and do things. I'm going to need video evidence of a carry before i believe this can be done
