Have had tons of lousy lag problems, but I'm on the west coast and that seems to be "normal" for FFXIV, apparently.

Today, I log in successfully from the splash screen, but then when the client starts up, my "START" is grayed out, and after several seconds I get a 'lobby server has encountered an error' 2002 message, and then the client exits. I've tried rebooting my cable router, which did nothing (all other network connections are fine), I've tried rebooting my computer, which did nothing, I've tried disabling my firewall entirely, which did nothing (and it wasn't blocking the FFXIV apps or launchers anyway).

It doesn't seem to be anyone else's problem, because the people I play with on teamspeak are all logged in just fine, but I've been unable to log in for hours now, and I just feel like I'm wasting my time here. Is there any magical fix for this error that doesn't require me to take a day off of work to deal with it?
