Forgive me if I'm posting in the wrong section, but I didn't really see anything else that looked right to me.

K, I just wanted to clarify(for the most-part) what the new FFXIV class/job system entails. If I'm wrong tell me, cause I am making this post to question the community if I am right, or wrong. I'd like to have a better understanding. (If I am right, then the learning curve behind the system is pretty intense )

I am going to use the Disciplines of War for my examples.
Right now we have "weapon specialists", Marauder=Great axe specialist, Gladiator=Sword specialist, Archer=bow+arrow specialist.

The new job system is going to be like what we have in FFXI, like Red Mage, Warrior, Paladin, Dragoon, etc...

So with that being said, the progression system in it's entirety is basically what we have in ffxi, but split into two separate, individual categories, Classes(weapon specialists), and Jobs(some form of theme).

So for example, when i reach Rank 30 Marauder I can choose to unlock the job Warrior. Because I was required to unlock Warrior with Marauder, the only available weapon of use, is Great Axe. However, if I level lancer rank 15, my Warrior has the option of using pole-arms with the additional ability to transfer select abilities from the Lancer class.

So in a nutshell classes are weapons, and jobs, well are just jobs like we have in ffxi.
I am sure jobs will be limited to weapons they can use, just in like ffxi.

With all that said, am I correct?
