What new DoL classes might we see in expansions?

    1. Choco breeder--suited for making Chocobos more useful, disciple of land but doesn't just gather greens and stuff, also does mini-games for Chocobo, like Chocobo digging hot and cold, races, etc. you can rent your Chocobo out to an actual player chocobo breeder and he will A. Go out and gather with the Chocobo by diging. b. train it for battle, c. Breed it for races, D. Be able to gather rare crafting materials like Chocobo feathers and what not. And he charges you before and receives tips after. Sure it's a risk since the price is decided by the Chocobo breeder and he might not come through but there can be a limit to what is being charged depending on the level of the breeder, reputation, and at the end there can be a refund of sorts implemented if the breeder did not do well or did not do anything at all. Of course, the player can take his own Chocobo to do the aforementioned.

    2. Farmer--Was there a shepherd before or am I mistaken? Similar to housing a farmer can have a separate farm. He can open it up when he deems necessary, but once per 24 hours, and invite other DoLs to gather with chances of gathering HQ and rare mats augmented. Of course, the farmer, based on level and reputation, charges the DoLs to come gather. Farms will be perfect for current gathering classes with trees and plants for botanists, rocks and stones and etc for miners, and ponds and creeks for fishers, as well as even areas for my Chocobo breeder idea. Farmers will go out and gather some mats on their own, exclusive to their class, but be unable to gather shards. Their main source of income and the concept to them is owning lands to open up for other players to use for an hour a day at a price. Furthermore, they can raise animals with a mini-game allowing culinarians to order marmot steaks HQ or whatever meats are needed. They will even have animals for cloth, leather, reagents, etc.

There indeed was meant to be such a class in 1.0, it was called Shepherd but was dummied out of the game's client, like Musketeer and the original version of Arcanist. There was even a Guild building for it (which was locked) in the hamlet of Owl's Nest in Coerthas (which no longer exists in ARR). Sadly all references to it have been removed in ARR, so we can only assume SE has decided to abandon the class completely.

    Explorer Class

My biggest gripe about this whole game is the lack of exploring/adventure when setting out to roam around. Too many things take you from point A to B and back 20 times. So I've been trying to find ways to encourage roaming and searching that isn't repetitive.

So, I'm proposing an Explorer class. Someone who can have the skills and gear to get to places normal players cannot. For example, when I was gathering in Thanalan, I looked up and noticed the large rock formations and wondered how cool it would be to climb up there and see whats on top. Would I find rare bird nests with feathers or eggs? How about lost treasure? In Gridania, I would like to be able to climb some of the rather large trees and see what's at the top. Limsa Lominsa has cliff sides that you could rappel down or shorelines that could be explored for sunken treasure. I think this class would give a good opportunity to make better use of the beautiful scenery we all want to explore more.

While leveling some of the skills to be learned could be rock climbing, rappelling, snorkeling, and diving. The tools to support those skills would be climbing gear such has hooks, ropes, gloves etc. Diving gear could be snorkels, diving fins, etc. And Rappeling could also be rope, and a grappling hook. This would also give crafters new things to create as well as help the market.

Best idea ever. Would be a nice tribute to Bartz as well.

    Animal Herding or Hunting?

I really think that we should look at Herding and Hunting as jobs for DoL! With Herding you could approach certain non aggro monsters in the field and extract culinary and weaving supplies! With Hunter they could have AOE on the map similar to FATES when you are in the hunter job only, and when in these "hunting grounds" you would get an increase in drops, for example; of leather, skins and meat. You could also add harder to take down mobs within these "hunting grounds" that would give higher exp. but also better drops then normal, kind of like a "Trophy" animal. I feel that the hunter job would add more depth not only to the experience that SQEX was trying to create with DoL and FATES but an added feeling of depth to our hunting logs, with something to show off and be proud of and not just feeling like they are another thing to slam through for exp.

I've loved the idea of thief being a DoL, and instead of chopping wood, you pickpocket people in towns

This is like a Harvest Moon fantasy come true! I would totally stop playing DoW/DoM classes just to dedicate myself to this class.
