    50+ Experience.

I did perform a brief search and could find anything addressing my suggestion, so, here goes...

The system in place at current strikes me as a little unfair/un-nerving. Either you hit level 50 and stop receiving experience or you hit level 50 and you can't keep track of it anymore. Considering Squeenix intends, at some point, to lift the cap, presumably, it seems a little unfair if Exp DOES just stops dead. You should just be able to pile up Experience for when Cap is finally lifted. That, at least, would be a reason to carry on playing, meaning the functions put in place to keep the pro happy would be bonus functions, like they probably should be.

I propose at level 50 the bar disappears and turns into a number that just keeps climbing until re-cap, then it changes back.

I know a lot of you will feel it is unfair to change it now as some players hit level 50 months ago, my answer is this. This has to happen to make the future game better and fairer for everyone.

This... but only up to where the bar is a 'buffer' of exp, to where it goes one exp short of level 51. It shouldn't go beyond that. It never does in MMOs. Or else what would be the point of raising the level cap, if all the people playing would just fly several levels from all the grinding they did? They need a 'gate' there somewhat to prevent this. Not receiving exp is that gate. If they didn't, then you'd just have people complaining about 'nothing to do' more than you see some do now, due to them not having to level when the cap is raised.

Actually it does in GW2. Every level you get past the cap accumulates skill points that you can spend on skills or for your legendary weapon.

LOTRO did the same thing. I like it.

But its not like you gain much EXP at 50 anyway. You don't get it from mobs, and you don't get it for completing dungeons.

    or do you?

Yah. But thats at 'endgame endgame' life cycles for games. FFXI did it too. I'm talking about straight exp 'period', not points to put to bonus stats, that shouldn't be in the game yet due to the fact that we'll have our level caps raised.

In GW2 you did gain exp quickly even at cap. Running around WvW was easy levels and most of the time you didn't even notice you dinged. I personally liked that system because you were still progressing towards the end-game item or other things to spend skill points on.

    Nah, that doesnt sound good.

When they raise the cap in, say, 6 months time, to 60, everyone will just jump to 60 and that'll be the end of that content. No challenge, no point.

    Leave it as it is!

I agree there should still be a limit to how much Exp a person can get, say 1 Exp shy of 51. Hell, you could go even further if you further reduced Exp gained for 50+ players. Just so that the bar has SOME use.

Because I'm willing to do things a bit different? Why would you want something exactly alike the last MMORPG you played? We were promised something different. At the moment it's like playing WOW, but with a slightly different template. But that's off topic --- Sotter, I'm not even gonna acknowledge your +1manship. If you don't have something constructive to say I really don't see the point in putting digit to key.

Hard to answer that because of the cap. The way things are set up it's hard to determine if you get ANYTHING after 50.

Let me ask you this Yoshi: Where's the incentive to go back an help lower level players once you have all the seals and tomes you need? Why should I? Why shouldn't I just concentrate on my DL gear? I just don't get it, one minute you're trying to instil a proper community, one that helps its fellow player and the next you're providing literally no incentive. I'd personally help without the incentive but the majority won't.

Well i can tell you that the answer to that question is certainly not "give me exp past the level cap so that when I do get the cap raised (from 50-60) that Im already level 59".

That would make absolutely 0 sense. Im not criticizing your idea but I think you want something that would be "OP" in terms of incentive.

I like to help people just because. I have fun when I do it. that is the reward. I think that at cap the battle exp you would gain can and should be put towards other things. as it stands, its not, and that is not something game breaking for me.
