Monk DPS on Demon Wall

I'm curious what other monks dps is like on the demon wall. I feel mine is super low and my friends say it's because I can't flank properly, which I get to a degree. But when I read other monks experience with the wall it sounds like they have massive dps skills there.

I have most DL gear and ifrit's claws.

Ifrit + DL should probably get around 170 on Demon Wall.

You can flank Demon Wall. Just stand towards its sides. Pretend the center of Demon Wall is the head sticking out.

I used to do that, until he started sneezing me off sideways unless i made it out of the target ring before the Repel. Now i just punch him in the face. Its less DPS for sure, but far safer. Still kill it right as the bees spawn, so /meh lol

Mnk and Drg both lose dps from not being able to flank/rear attack. Blm and Smn both lose dps because they have to move so much. Bard continues to dps the entire time. This shows that Mnk dps on demon wall is fine and also why devs where unhappy with their Bard design.

If you are having trouble with demon wall then your tank and healer are probably not DPSing like they should be.

Yes and No. Now that I have relic +1 I always tell my healer to not heal me and just heal the dps and more often than not, we burn down the boss and I just grab both adds and take them to the sides and continue to dps the boss. Only do this if you have at least 2 relics in your party.

There is nothing to tank on this fight except the adds. If people are not standing in stuff they shouldn't be there is very little damage going out on this fight up until the adds.

With a majority of my gear being Il 55 (1 90 ring and others around 50) I get about 160 with my mnk and if I use lb then its about 180. Not sure if that's good or not, but overall it doesn't seem tone too bad.

If you stand to the side, you actually can get a flank. So your dps will only drop when you're forced in the middle.
Obviously, it's not the most optimal fight as a monk.

However, it's really not that bad for a few reasons. First being, as I said above, you can get a flank for a good portion and flank is the most important for the monk.
The second is that the timing usually coincides well that I can do dots and off gcd abilites when forced in the middle. Both of which have no positional requirement.

Even if you use perfect balance for every other fight to build GL3, I strongly recommend you use it as a dps cooldown for this fight.
My cooldown rotation is something like
Dragon Kick (IR) ---> Twin Snakes (Blood for Blood) ---> Demolish (Steel Peak) ---> Touch of Death (Howling Fist) ---> Fracture
Dragon Kick ---> Twin Snakes ---> Snap Punch (Perfect Balance) ---> Snap Punch x4

Mercy stroke usually pops up during the snap punch spam. I use this closer to the end of the fight.

Otherwise, stand by the edge when you're on the side and I promise you'll get a flank. This should help a lot.

Thanks for the tips everyone. I really needed to know where I stood dps wise since I am only reaching 95 max at the wall. I will try this rotation along with more of a flanking position.

Yep, MNK and SMN, killed it halfway between second and third repels. Ridiculous dps!

Major thing is: even though you must dps from flank, do NOT get hit by the flank strips, they slow you, which destroys your dps.

EDIT: also why do you people always look the same! I'm illiterate so I only see portraits, you all either look like ayvar or easymode to me.
