Why not make event armor and weapons scale with your level?

I don't think I've seen a single game where gear scaled with your character

In FF11 there was the Rajas/Sattva/Tamas Rings

"Subtle Blow" +5
Lv. 30 All Jobs

Level
18 - 29 Bonus: +1 (lvl 18-29 bonus possible via lvl sync)
30 - 44 Bonus: +2
45 - 59 Bonus: +3
60 - 74 Bonus: +4
75 - 99 Bonus: +5

I'd like to see long lived gear like this in FFXIV (obtained by completing story missions etc)
