    healing in ps3

i play on ps3 as a DRG, and recently i started playing as a MRD too, and tank can gets messy sometimes due the fact i can't click on the mob easily. i never played as healer in other mmo's, so my doubt is, can i play as a healer on ps3 targeting the party, or i should get a mouse and a keyboard to play healer?

Playing healer on ps3 is quite easy. You just press the up / down buttons to target your party members. It cycles through the party list.

Ive only got maurader to 15 and havent done any dungeons with him So I can't comment on how easy that is on the ps3.

I play WHM on PS3. I struggled until I went into the setting and changed the target filters, so it allows me to cycle through enemies and goodies, and/or only one...you can change ad hoc
So, unless you change the filters...yeah, it is bonkers hard....but there is a remedy!!

EDIT: Assume you are talking about changing between targeting party members and evil enemies!
Once filter set; right left direction buttons to cycle....and always up, down directional for party

As a healer there are no evil enemies. Only enemies, partymembers and evil partymembers. The enemy will never surprise you.

Like said, target filters is the key. Up / down for party members, left / right for actual filter (party / ennemies / allies / all). Healing is really easy and comfortable on PS3 / controller.

F1-F8 also target party members, even while the cross hot bar is up.

As for targeting mobs with a mouse, I find it easier to target with a controller, but u need to know how to do it.

(As in, knowing when X is best to use, and when left/right is best to use)

filters are good but not many know that hold R2 +L1 or Hold L2 + R1 will cycle only enemies.

That leaves the filters for left and right for other things

I play all 3 roles on a controller on PC so it's not that hard. As a tank, you set your filter to Enemies and cycle through them. The aggro'd mobs list will highlight slightly which target you have your target on if it's not a focus target. As a healer, I do the same thing with filter. Leave them on enemies and use up + down on D-pad to target party member. It also helps to rearrange your party list for priorities so you can get to some members faster like tanks or melee dps. This can be done by going to party windows, click X one on the one you want to move, up and down on D-pad and click X again once you're done. You can click up twice to get to party member no. 8 as it is faster that way. Thing is, you need to disable the top half of the filter configurations windows (the part about weapon sheath or drawn) and enable the customized filter.

I occasionally run into targeting issues while tanking on ps3, most common is selecting a Summoners pet, or for some reason when trying to select an enemy that you lost aggro on the auto select keeps selecting a target closer to you instead of the one you are actually trying to target. Healing is much easier because you can just use up/down to select party members, and I personally use macro's that attack Target's Target so I don't have to deselect the tank in order to cast Aero/Stone/etc

Healing on the gamepad and even moreso, the PS3 is do-able.

However, there are some dungeons that may create targeting lag (or other unexpected interface lag) on the PS3. These locations so far include: Castruum with large pulls, Praetorium, Wanderer's Palace with aggressive pulls, and Binding Coil Turn 4 when spiders appear.

During these times, an instant spell (Regen) may sometimes take three to five seconds to execute.

However, these dungeons were tried on a standard PS3 hard drive (5400 rpm) and I've been advised that a faster hard drive may somehow alleviate some of this stress, though it is not known to me how.
