    Has SE Addressed PVE / Open World Concerns?

    As of right now, it's no secret that this game has very little, if nothing to do in the open world. If you aren't using duty finder than the game is pretty much non-existent.

    In many other game there are reason for every single mob in the game, whether it be the items they drop to craft, or having them be a barrier to the next area before you can pass...

    I guess I'm just scared of seeing this beautiful world that SE created go to waste with nothing to do in it.
    • There are two mobs in the entire game that can be farmed for any real purpose.
    • There are no open world nm/hnm aside from the joke FATES of Behe and Odin.
    • Beastmen camps serve literally no purpose as of now (although im sure there will be quests there in 2.1) but even then, you can plow through them with a few AoEs or a chocobo.
    • The maps and the scenery are absolutely beautiful but there is a severe lack of content to make them worthwhile for anything less than a cool screenshot.

    Personally, as an avid hardcore player, I'd love to see real open world NM and HNM come back, even though I know with 99% certainty that they never will. But the least they can do is fill the zones with worthwhile content.

    I agree it's a complete waste of designs. They redid the entire world and it's beautiful, but the game is designed to rush you through all of that in two weeks so you can farm the same handful of dungeons over and over again.

    Unfortunately they've said multiple times the open world is intended to not be challenging, so along with that they're not likely to put any worthwhile content in it.

    Ugh, I hate that ... What is the point of having this massive beautiful open world with nothing to put in it. You might as well sit in one zone and click on your DF button all day because the rest of it is worthless atm.

    There is so much to do in the open world!

    You can gather items as DoH!
    You can level an Alt!
    You can gather items from mobs as DoW/DoM!

    The possibilities are endless for a grand total of NINE permutations of the aforementioned activities!

    The game isn't designed to rush people though the world. A lot of people just think an MMO is a rush to the endgame and prefer gear grinding to reading dialogue and getting immersed in the lore and... well, anything close to role-playing at all in this RPG.

    However, it would be nice if they expanded on these areas to add:

    (1) More content for low-to-mid level players. Don't just make quests - make storylines that amplify the features of these areas, both new and old. Make new content but also tell a story.

    (2) Content for high-leveled players. If both high-leveled players and lower-leveled players are running around the same area, there's room for them to talk and for newer players to learn. A long, 30-hour storyline that takes place in these new areas would do them justice.

    I have a problem with threads like this. Don't just say that there is a problem and end it there. Let's discuss a solution.

    Yes, I read the thread's title. And aside from your comment about bringing back NMs and Licus's rebutal, people are just stating that "yes, this game has very little to do in the open world when you finish leveling up. What's the point of having a world if there isn't much to do in it? It's a complete waste of design." Without opening up discussion for a solution, that's all this thread is going to be. Just people stating the obvious. I've seen plenty of threads like this and I'm getting tired of it.

    Also, coming up with an idea, then stating that you "know with 99% certainty that they never will" implement it isn't opening it up to discussion.

    Well to the OP, not sure if you've read up on it, but there are 2 new types of open world content coming in 2.1. Along with more questing content.

    Not some... kind of dailies or treasure hunt.
