People say that must format window every 6 month...I pay attention and have same OS istallation from over 2 years. Then that is something you must deal with
whos to say im not the one logging into your network from right outside your house?
again, this protects you, yes its an inconvenience, but its one thats worth it
as ive always stated before in these matters
people LOVE security features, unless they are affected by them and have to do anything extra
I'm ok with security features but if i can decide to use it or not.
A sort of swich can be fine
IP check system--->ON/OFF (default ON)
Security features always inconviniance users slightly, theres some which to a normal user arent noticable like network security, where a firewall checks things against access lists which slightly slows traffic, and there are some like this one which are completly noticable.
The key is finding a compromise between security and conviniance, now just think for a moment, SE could have implemented a system that locks your account out for 15 mins if you login from another PC and you have to reset your password which is worse the current system or that?
The current system is a compromise, currently I would think this is the minimum they could do for account security.
Also people that say "I was playing FFXI for years and never got hacked without this system" all you need to do is go on a website with a malicious ad, or cookie and you could get a keylogger that would get your password, then you would be hacked, unless you only use the OSK to enter passwords.
Also as other people say if this is such an unacceptable inconviniance get a security token so you dont have the problem
they did it more for them self then for you, this stops them from having to deal with people with stolen accounts in the boat loads buy a token

Perfect...
If I have IP check on and my accout was stolen then SE must do something.
If I choose to deactivate system and I lose my account SE can ignore me...
I can accept a thing like this.
It is my choice
its also your choice to play from more then 1 location/rig
this is a dead issue, its not getting changed, people keep bringing this up only when it inconveniences them

I agree with this, when SE announced it there were no complaints that I remember, but once somone gets blocked they start crying, as I said this is a compromise, they could have made it much worse.
or better.
Like permit to register up to 3-5 pc on SE account...
And IP check not work from this PC, but only from computer that aren't in list.
OH...solved....in a very simple way^^
SE NEVER publicize this feature when talk about the game XD
There are 2 ways they can implement this:
1. you put your ip address in to SE account manager, however people dont usually know thier IP address, even if they know about ipconfig that only gives your local IP address, if you are using NAT (which you will) then its alot harder to get your external IP because users dont need to know it.
2. the first x amount of PCs are regestered to use, the problem with this is if you havent use the entire alotment of PCs then the system is useless, and it might as well be scrapped.
Also it was either in patch notes or one of Yoshi-P's letters when it was implemented, if you dont read those then you wont of heard it, there has been no reason to publicize it to the world, just where it matters.
Buy a Token it only cost 10$ o.o am going to buy it and i don't even need it because i only play on one Computer/ISP. but it just nice to have something on top of what they have not.
