    I'm sorry but I'm going to have to disagree here. Yes they do have some shared CC skills, however I feel that the ones that WAR gets from PLD are more useful overall, not to mention that the CC abilities from PGL are also more useful in combat than the ones from CNJ, at least imo. WAR get 10 CC, PLD get 9. For WAR 2 of 10 are attack abilities that will most likely not get used, for PLD 3 of 9 are these type of attack abilities. The PGL CC skills for WAR are mainly buffs that can provide more potential damage or more survivability via better heals, while the CNJ CC skills for PLD are good for solo but not useful in a group except maybe stoneskin.

    This doesn't seem equal to me.

    Also, in my experience WAR already had a bit of an edge damage wise against PLD and now with wrath being more useable attacks like Inner Beast could potentially be used more since the Healing buff isn't reliant on keeping wrath stacks. This could potentially increase their damage output, so what was already a marginal leg up could become more noticeable.

    This again doesn't seem equal to me.

    I am all for the classes being equally viable and equally good at main tanking, off-tanking, whatever, but you can't make them equal in one aspect and ignore the rest. Equality should be throughout to truly be equal.

    It's a matter of perspective with CC abilities really, I kind of consider the traits each job has as a factor as well, but even then the balance is hard to determine based on preference, playstyle, and category of the ability.

    Like I said before though, WAR is going to be a bit more double edged and split down the middle on Mitigation, Enmity, and Damage. Instead of managing one rotation like PLD, you need to optimize using three WS tree's which if your not tanking it's not a big deal, but you might struggle a bit more with Enmity when you're trying to use SP/SE's effects, or forgo their effects for the sake of crowd control. The same can be said about using Unchained and IB you can pick DPS or Survivability but not both.

    Gamemako, since you seem to have everything in a simulation-esque spreadsheet format, perhaps you could construct another situational chart for me...

    Basically, if we assume that Twintania's Death Sentence is every 30s, and hits for about... 5k unmitigated, for example, and has regular autoattacks that hit for 1.5k unmitigated (feel free to step in if you have more accurate damage numbers), then what does the long term (7 minutes) mitigation look like for PLD and WAR under the following methodology...

    PLD uses Rampart, Sentinel, or Hallowed Ground in that order, as available, a few seconds before each Death Sentence, and no other cooldowns during autoattacks.
    WAR uses Vengeance or IB as available, a few seconds before each Death Sentence, such that when Vengeance will not be available, the WAR will save Wrath stacks for IB for the coming Death Sentence.

    Hope that made sense. =)
    Basically on Twintania, the biggest single source of damage is Death Sentence. So if both tanks selectively use their mitigation CD's to reduce the effect/danger of Death Sentence, who comes out ahead?

    That is deceptively complex. If we ignore all other attacks, we'll cover a 500 DPS base line (1.5k autoattack per 3 seconds) with spikes of Death Sentence at 30s intervals. The AA DPS part can be pulled right off the blocking continuous chart, more or less. It never stops autoattacking, so that baseline is roughly valid in and of itself for the autoattack portion. For that portion, WAR and PLD are effectively identical. The problem from here is avoiding double-counting things. The chart already accounts for all of WAR's self-healing, so you're considering only the scaled portion. There's unfortunately not much way to avoid creating a detailed schedule here, which takes a good amount of time. I'll look into it, but it might take a while.

    //EDIT: WAR part is easy. Reliable, with eHP buff on everything you do. 41.11% average mitigation from that damage portion. The Death Sentence portion is 166.67 DPS, and your average mitigation is 41.11% compared to 34-35% from the other portion (500 DPS). That should come out to a total overall mitigation of around 36.15%. Still thinking about how to consider PLD portion.

    //EDIT 2: Created a 15-minute rotation for this example. PLD comes out to an average 43.06% reduction. Overall, while PLD may come out slightly ahead on average. However, it is worth keeping in mind that WAR has an increased eHP pool for every big hit. It is very difficult to catch WAR without +25% eHP, but PLD will necessarily have no direct eHP buff for 13/30 of the hits over 15 minutes. These can be hit with Stoneskin just as well, but that difference should not be ignored.
