Just because its "legal" doesn't mean its the right thing do, or the way things should be. I think SE should consider changing it, and I think that in time they will.

My personal opinion is that a previous poster was right, SE realizes that leve failing is the main gil sink in the game right now. Once the economy is stable (if it ever is) they will change leve failing mechanics. We will have to see how it goes.

I am coming back to try out the game again after the battle changes, but I'm not looking forward to dealing with leve failing parties again. I'll probably just solo again.

well when they add more balances into the mix maybe we wont have to fail them anymore

though i wont lie, if they offered every leve, id take 8, and fail all 8 every time, that way i could do 16 per cycle in the same manner

i dont think the fail option will be removed though, it was ADDED to the game as was pointed out many many times back in the november patch(i think it was november at least) and it was working as intended except for the abuse people used with it in the faction NM leves(which was fixed as such)

and remember the most important part of this
by failing these leves, we are not getting faction points which means no special runs vs the NMs cuz of it, and trust me, they add up QUICK if you arent getting them to how many youve lost

You can feel this way and you can tell SE how you feel. That's fine.

I can disagree and tell SE how I feel.

The problem lies in trying to make players feel bad about doing something the developers intended and accounted for and falls within the confines of the allowed game mechanics. That crosses a line. It's not cheating. It's not exploiting. It's using the system the way it was intended to maximize your play style and preferences (SP over Gil/Faction). So you can disagree that it should work that way, but there's no need for His Majesty to verbal grief people on a forum for not adhering to his strict code of douchebaggery.

No offense to you, sir. I'm just drawing a distinction.

If that is SE way of giving players choices of a reward, than it is a slipshod and lazy way to do it. Why not let the player pick at the end of the leve than? You could either choose faction points and gil, or some bonus SP, but not both. That seems a much better way to do it to me anyways.

The only thing I'm against is the fact we have to intentionally fail something to get a desired reward. Games are supposed to be about completion, not failing things. All just my opinion of course.
