    LFG PvP focused

Looking for a hardcore set of PvP'ers to run with once PvP is implemented. I have "maybe" 2 other guys i will run with as well but they havent been on in awhile.

I dont mind running PvE content either, but my primary focus is PvP'ing, ranking and gearing to be #1 on the server.

Would like an FC/LS that has like-minded individuals who are competitively driven, but can function well in a group setting. Also, would be cool if everyone had PvP experience in other MMOs

I was one of the top Guardians on my server in SWTOR before i quit and was the top Tank in ROSE server (old mmo). I have A LOT of experience in FPS (counter-strike, cs:source, cod4, mw2, BO, BF3) competitions which helps with group dynamics and communications.

WAR is my main. I have full i90 Warrior set + a few allagan pieces. Working on +1'ing my AXE & finding allagan accessories atm and getting ready to change my build once PvP launches.

Im a hardcore pvper. I love pvp in all its entirety but i must ask a fellow pvp player...Dont take offense to this..

But what does it really mean to be number one on the server in a game where nearly all melee are going to be gimped in pvp due to the delay initially built into the servers and class balance completely out of whack because of it? I can't be the only one seeing this coming. Its the number one reason why i play this game strictly for its PvE. Theres no way PvP will be competitive in this game so long as it exists the way it does today. Although i hope one day, the server infrastructure gets changed to allow it. (mind you, i have barely any lag, but i know ton of players that do get it, thus rendering any competitive pvp pointless). What are you really looking forward to i guess is what im asking?

Thanks for clearing it up for me ahead of time.

I know a handful of people who are looking forward to PvP and plan to PvP a lot. I can throw you an LS invite if you want so we can keep in touch. (My LS is filled with all sorts of people, and it is not specifically PvP-driven... but a few of us ARE PvP-driven.) I also have an incredibly small FC (literally 5 people), most of which are in a Coil static together. Some of us are looking forward to PvP. I'd offer you a FC invite but I doubt you'd want to join something that small. I will likely be playing Summoner in PvP (or WHM/SCH if Summoner is unplayable and the pet is too easily CC'd). I know another person who will be playing Paladin. I possibly have a Scholar who is interested.

I am very excited for PvP, but I also have my reservations about it. The lag in positioning updates isn't just going to 'go away', and it is a problem that has been plaguing many PvEers in this game for months... If people attempt to play PvP in this game like they do in every other game, melee will be dancing circles around mages to try to interrupt spellcasting, ranged will be running around pillars to avoid damage... if the positioning issues aren't fixed, a mage will literally NEVER get a spell off. As it is, it's hard to get a spell off on a mob that is running past you (even if you time the way your character is facing perfectly). However... I'm more than happy to give PvP a shot, and will be going at it hardcore from the day it opens. I only assume these issues will get fixed with time... and I'd rather grind out the tokens/tomes/whatever starting from week one than get left behind when PvP is actually 'fixed'.

The one thing I am trying to avoid with my LS/FC are aggressive players. I have encountered way too many jerks in PvP over the years -- and I am not talking about aggression pointed toward me. I have heard some pretty nasty/rude comments over voice chat, even when the player wasn't even that bad. May the twelve help a person who instinctively yells at others when PvP isn't going his or her way -- because that kind of stuff won't fly with me. If someone is bad, just don't play with them. There's no reason to get needlessly rude.

I understand your concerns about the melee aspect of the game, and i share this concern as well. Im hoping, eventually (if not at launch), the melee aspect will be similar to how it was in SWTOR, but im not holding my breathe. The aspect i like about PvP is that im playing other players. PvE is fun, but its predictable and you can map out how to win 100% of the time after youve done certain content enough. PvP, you may be able to predict how another player will play, but you will never know exactly how they will play. Its a lot more reactive and keeps me on my toes. This is probably due to the fact that i grew on FPS like Counter-Strike where it was all PvP and the person with the better tactics/skill/aim/teamwork would win. I like knowing that i beat another player and not just an AI.

I dont belong to a static, and my FC is a small group of potential PvP'ers from my SWTOR group (who may or may not be playing still). Small groups are usually how i play since its harder or takes longer to build a cohesive unit with larger groups.

My goal is to eventually be a top player on the server in PvP. Honestly, my frustration depends on how skilled a player is. Im old enough and played enough games and competitions where ive seen everything there is to see, but what i still expect to see from people who want to PvP is progression. If a player doesnt want to, or cant progress then we shouldnt be playing together. Not saying he shouldnt be PvPing, but we just have different expectations of what we want from our PvP experience and im hoping i can find more people who share a similar interest/goal as i do.

Its going to take some time to get used to the pvp mechanics in this game

I'm more than into the competitive side of PvPing. I would also like to be well-known as a good PvPer. I'll be happy to help people learn, but for the more dedicated PvPers... it is more about theory crafting in the beginning. We will all be new to this game's particular PvP mechanics and may have some helpful advice when working with each other. Playing with a group is a lot about chemistry -- communication, good judgment calls; one bad judgment call could mean the difference between death and victory. I like playing with people who have good attitudes and are quick on their feet. I do not like when people attack each other when something doesn't go his or her way. I believe in constructive criticism. "You know, dude, if you did this maybe it would be better because..." instead of, "OMG YOU ARE SO BAD LEARN TO PLAY OMFG." I don't like when people blame others when something happened that really isn't any one person's fault. It will be pretty apparent early on who will be able to get to the top scoreboard and who simply won't be able to. So, we can drop those people with 'no hard feelings' as long as we aren't mean about it.

In other words... I want to play with people who are group-minded, but also have the skill to get far. I do not want to play with people who are rude, especially toward competitors. I don't believe in griefing. I'd rather have a 'good' reputation... and I think it is important to the server community for there to be groups like that. I worry about the community of this game because there is already so much intentional griefing in PvE...

I have yet to play in group where anyone would act like a child and say "omg you are so bad learn to play omfg," but if it ever did occur it would be because the competition was getting really intense. The groups i play with tend to be extremely competitive, and while i love this, it can sometimes manifest itself in negative ways. Im guilty of this at times, a bunch of hot headed individuals losing can sometimes turn the atmosphere sour, but my group and i have always apologized afterwards if we were in the wrong and have continued playing together as a group. Luckily i have a lot of experience with communicating within competitive settings, so i think we share a lot of views of what our experiences of PvP should be

I honestly love seeing people theory crafting, and doing some myself. Finding the best and most effective build for my play style will be fun..

To me, i dont really care if my teammates grief or not. I usually dont unless theres someone i absolutely hate, but even then i just let my skills do the talking. Nothing is more satisfying than handing a L to the opponent

To be honest, I'm not sure if there will even be an opportunity to grief (unless there is some sort of known environmental bug people intend to abuse). Everyone has the name "Fresh Meat" as a nameplate, so it's not even like you know who you are playing against. I know in beta, they made it so you could see the team members' names after the fight was already over, but I'm unsure how it will work in the real release. I'm sure we'll have to differentiate by saying jobs. "Kill the melee first, cc the scholar..."

I'm wondering how much status effects will come into play. It's very rare that you need to use any sort of status effect remover (eye drops, echo drops, etc) in PvE, but PvP could be a whole new animal. We'll also have to see which 'unique' pvp abilities each job gets.

I've met a lot of really rude people in voice chat for random PvP runs, but the people I get to know are usually nicer and more familial. I understand people getting frustrated once in a while, but having a good overall attitude is really what matters most to me... people with a team mindset.

If by chance your making a ls or forming a static group i'm looking for join one, if not if we can get a few like minded people we could start one if one isn't already formed. Undecided on what il play yet need more info about pvp and etc before i decide.

It costs nothing to say something kind. Even less to shut up altogether.
