    15mins penalty...

Was fighting Aiatar... with worst tank ever... we had so much patience and had to teach him how to tank. WITHOUT CUSSING our heads off... Finally with 6mins left we say "ok we did our best..." tank leaves. We get new tank and they say they won't fight Aiatar. So we leave dungeon... I now get penalized with 15mins unable to go to dungeon.
Soooooooooooooooo unfaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaair, the things I had to heal through... Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?
Is there anything else I should know about this game, that might penalize you in this way so I can avoid it. Thanks.

The first person to leave the party from a dutyfinder receives a penalty for leaving. You can circumvent this penalty if you collect the full 4 or 8 members beforehand, or by simply not being the first player to leave.

Other penalties to be aware of that they don't tell you until its too late: it will cost you 50,000 gil to switch grand companies (although your first change is free). You can only change grand companies once every 4 weeks. If you do a server change, you cannot change server again until a month later.

Also, as far as gathering goes, fishing is the least productive in terms of gil and items. So much that it might even cost you money to level it. And I think that's all the bad news I can stand to bring up.

Fishing definitely does not cost money to level unless maybe in the case of just grinding it out. Fishing leves are insanely fast for levelling, and you easily turn a profit in the 2 or 3 days it will take to get to level 50. Even if you decide to just grind it out, the bait is so inexpensive you're going to spend very, very little if anything at all especially since most fish will sell back to a NPC for almost the same cost as the bait. Selling some of the fish you gather on the market can even result in turning a profit.

I do get your point but people must realize as well that many new players (myself included) take on the tanking role
I actually had no idea what my duties were until i got to the first dungeon and am learning fairly quick.
Except for Hawkke Manor yesterday, i was rather bad, did better today however.
Other players gave me advise as we were going along which helped tons
Also are you on sub? Dependant on your sub you may get up to 8 characters (different servers)
Also if you are not in a Free Company i recommend finding one as it usually goes far smoother then randoms from duty finder

Yeah, Brayflox is a major test for new tanks - it taught me the necessity of avoiding AoE rather than just 'sucking it up' and taking the brunt, as well as properly communicating with the rest of the party. And yes, Duty Finder is best avoided if you have alternatives (filling your party with friends from your ls/FC is always preferable).
