    Account Suspended and customer support unavailable

    "Dear Customer,
    We are writing to inform you that we have suspended the FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn service account registered to this e-mail because on 20/11/2013 you breached the FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn User Agreement. The relevant sections from the FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn User Agreement are:
    2.1 Cheating and Botting. You may not create or use any cheats, bots, automation software, hacks, mods or any other unauthorized software designed to modify the Game and gameplay. In addition, you may not take advantage of game system bugs and exploits during gameplay.

    2.5 Data Mining. You may not intercept, mine or otherwise collect information from the Game using unauthorized third party software.

    2.6 Hacking and Circumvention. You may not hack, disassemble, decompile, or otherwise modify the Game or server computer code, whether the Game code is located on a DVD, Blu-rayTM disc, your computer/console or on SQUARE ENIX’s servers, except as expressly permitted by SQUARE ENIX or applicable law.

    2.7 Modifying or Creating Derivative Software. You may not modify or cause to be modified any files that are a part of the Game or Service in any way not expressly authorized by SQUARE ENIX, and may not make any derivative works of the Game.
    We found evidence of this violation, which led to this suspension.
    The suspension will last a minimum of 72 hours starting upon receipt of this e-mail notification until 24/11/2013 0:00 (GMT) during which time you will be unable to access FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn or your service account.

    I was just playing 2 hours ago and haven't done anything wrong. If I was cheating my character would be much richer or much more leveled. I haven't data mined, or used third party programs either. Now I'm told I can't play for at least 72 hours? Chat support is down, and there's nothing I can do? Really?

    If I did do something wrong can they at least tell me so it doesn't happen again? I'll wait 3 days or a week or whatever if I accidentally did something up but I'm not sure how I could have. Anyone else gotten one of these?

    Sounds like your account might have been compromised. I'd try changing my password and then giving phone support a call.

    or a tactical way to get unbanned for botting. who knows these days. i never seen a botter or cheater get banned for not botting or cheating. or who knows could have been a miss-click by a drunk Dev or GM

    And make sure you run a malware scan. Giving you (and SE) the benefit of doubt, the most likely scenario is that your account was used by a third party for a Gil selling spambot.

    Or the many cases in other MMOs (GW2, WOW, Rift to name three I have seen documented reports about) .. or earlier in XIV's life where many players got banned for alleged RMT activities which were later proved false accusations.

    Considering the length of time SE takes to do bans / suspensions I would suspect they actually investigate the issue before they take action. If your account was hacked get the security token / software token.

    It seems that there have not been any further posts about this concern being an ongoing issue. Because of this, we are considering it to be resolved.
