By the time they reach a certain Item level to que for HM Titan, chances are they'll be better players over-all & not get flamed on as much in game.

It is MMO player logic that doing something like grinding WP and AK makes you "experienced" and a "better player." It's one of those aspects that makes the genre difficult to defend to outsiders...that these games are set up so that anyone willing to pour in 100 hours into some monotonous, routine task will become able to challenge subsequent content. That is, grinding WP and AK doesn't make you "better players."

Understanding how many abilities you can get off between Weight and Bombs...
As a DPS, understanding how to adjust your rotations around interruptions...
As a tank, recognizing when your healers are struggling and using your abilities accordingly.
As a healer, finding a rhythm to always get your tank topped off and protected at the right time without burning unnecessarily through mp..
    These make for "better players."

Grinding AK and WP do NOTHING for this. Just monotonous repetition so you can watch some numbers go a bit higher and pretend that you've achieved something...the greatest shame of the genre.

This game clearly has gone to great efforts to fight this tendency. The power difference between item levels is smaller than I'm used to(admittedly, I've played mostly F2P games). Every subsequent instance in the end game introduces new gimmicks...forcing the players themselves to fully learn their characters and the game. This is a game where skill and strategy are far more important than item level. Such a rare gem amongst MMOs...Yet there's still going to be those people who need a game where they get a mindless repetitive option for progression.

Okay..time to draw this rant to a close. Just do me one favor, eh? In two weeks or so you'll start hollaring at people for not having an i90 wep in coil. Let's nip that in the bud, eh? Go to http://bluegarter.guildwork.com/ and scroll down to the part that says "All we can say is – that fight is tuned to absolute perfection with ilvl 80 weapons and ilvl 70 gear (and some Holy Shields +1)."

Okay, now reread that a few dozen times or however long it takes you to realize that you don't need a +1 relic or myth armor for coil. Hurray! Now we don't need to see a "Coil Item Level Check Please Yoshi!!" thread where it's explained that people should spend 6 weeks grinding myth tomes before they're even allowed into coil in the first place.
