    SE making NEW MMO

    "Square Enix is readying a new large scale Massively Multiplayer Online title to be announced some time this fiscal year. CEO Yoichi Wada made brief mention of this new game during a May 13 earnings briefing. A full transcript of the briefing was posted today at the company's IR page.

    According to Wada, Square Enix hopes aims to operate two to three large scale MMO titles simultaneously, a target it feels will allow it to have stable cash flow. The company is developing one more title in addition to Final Fantasy XIV, and Wada hopes to announce the game during the fiscal year.

    Wada also made note of the problems faced by FFXIV, saying the game will take a bit more time, but they're at the point where they can see the target."

    I have 8 crafts at 50. All I did was watch T.V. and spam standard for easy mode synths. Enjoy leveling those crafts in 1.19 and beyond everyone!

    Well they're already running FFXI, FFXIV and Fantasy Earth Zero, no reason for them not to try another one I guess....

    Two things spring to mind. One being that it could be one of those "free" MMOs I see so often advertised on japanese gaming sites (not to mntion niconico douga). The other is more along the lines of "way to fail at keeping an already agitated fanbase under control". The doomcryers are only gonna get louder now. =/

    Though at this point I'm gonna just sit back and watch the show. FFXIV isn't going to die to me unless they screw up with hybrids like I've been dreading (basically the second coming of cure/haste/refresh bot Red Mage) or the new MMO turns out to be World of Chrono Trigger.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.

    I doubt its a large scale game. It could really be anything from a mobile game to some facebook app (they've been doing those lately as well).

    lol, take the dev team from that game and put them to work on this one. Unless their their third MMO is rock solid, both it and FF14 are gonna be the next Spirits Within.

    Isn't Dofus the SRPGMMO being Published by SE? You can't find much info on it on the game's website but it was all over Gamasutra a long time ago.
