I think you miss the point of these kind of mmo's. To answer your question if an mmo had a pop up like that I wouldn't play. The point is you challenge these challenging end game raids/dungeons in order to get better gear. It's the entire aspect of rpg's. You go after stronger bosses/dungeons and get better loot. As you do harder things you become more powerful. This is in the core of what makes an rpg an rpg. You get rewarded for defeating the difficult encounter with powerful loot. It's been this way even in P&P Rpg's like dungeons and dragons. If you killed a dragon and literally got nothing that would be a terrible campaign.I still don't understand why MMOs still run the backwards logic of giving you items to make things easier at endgame.
It is like you beat coil, and it pops up a question asking "Do you want next coil to be easier? Yes/No". Except it does this in a cryptic way with gear drops instead so it isn't as obvious.
You need to explain this to SE they seem to think that completing quests or easy 20 minute dungeons should get you the same loot . or in some slots better loot then the end game raidI think you miss the point of these kind of mmo's. For active raiders, not nope nada. Totally not worth it.
This is true and all but wasnt there supposed to be ilvl increase for allagan items making them ilvl95 instead 90? if this is true then progress would look like AF > AK/WP > DL > CT > Mythology > BCThe problem is that it messes with gear progression paths, currently it is AF > AK/WP > DL > CT (supposedly) > BC/Mythology
but making it easier and faster to get Mythology gear makes it AF > DL > Mythology or even AF > Mythology
I'm not against players getting gear easier and faster but certainly not the top tiered gears
I don't know, ReiszRie gives me this, "Everything new is fine so long as it doesn't make everyone else like me." vibe. Like being ultimately equipped should be this permanent accord that noone else should be allowed breach. All Heroic/AF+1/Allagan, fine by him so long as it's just him and his close knit group. I honestly had enough of that attitude in XI. Yes, XI has a good community so long as you don't include the endgame community in that statement. Looks like that community found it's way here. Any changes to open the door to endgame just a bit wider is a good thing. It's already bad enough, what with players demanding you be ultimately equipped just to join them in the end dungeons, much less something like Coil or the upcoming Tower and Pharos. We really need to quit with the elitism, it isn't helping anyone.
I don't think as a causal player that I'll ever get 450 tomes a week, that's to much work truthfully. More likely this will effect the lower level hardcore players that start later on though.
