    Stat allocation...

So, ive been googling info on how to allocate stats as PLD, but the internet seems to be pretty mixed on what the right way to allocate stat is for PLD. Also, my FC tells me to dump everything on VIT, while "Mr Happy" guy from youtube says that STR > VIT for PLD...

So, once in for all, what is an optimal way to allocate stats for PLD?

I went full VIT, never have any problem holding aggro. TBH, you wont be needing all vit until u start doin Titan HM and Coil.

All vitality until 50 and you start acquiring gear. Then a decision based on your stats can be made. If you are sitting in range for the next strength tier to increase block strength, that is probably worth more than the extra vitality. This of course will depend on what you are doing, as some fights the extra mitigation won't help against heavy burst damage. A bad example that shows the point would be Titan HM mountain buster, it it one shots you extra block strength won't help as much as some extra vitality that might make you able to survive.

Sorry to hijack, but I think it will help the OP as well. What does it mean to be sitting close to the next tier of a stat? As Eightbit said above ^

Is each tier of a stat based on 100's. Like 100-199 is one tier, then 200-299 is a second tier, and so on? And does being in a new tier significantly improve your character?

Ok for block percents, it isn't a direct scale with strength. You don't get a relationship like 1 strength is .1% block strength. Instead it is a relationship based on total amounts, like at 243 strength you will block 21% of damage but at 283 strength you block 22% damage. Sure not a huge increase, but if you can reach that jump it might help mitigate more damage than the 14 hp per vitality point (if the numbers I'm reading are right). Once again it is a thing of balance. I would not give up all my points in vit to reach a strength cap, but up to maybe 15 I would.

Also would like to reiterate that this also greatly depends on the content you are doing. High HP deals better with high burst fights, high block strength deals better with long steady damage fights.

You should be all VIT unless it's time to be all STR. If you don't know when its time to be all STR, then it isn't time yet.

Vitality. Vitality, vitality, vitality, vitality vitality. Unless, of course, you have a preference for vitality, which, in this case, is okay.

Except that the gain from 1% more block mitigation < points into vitality.
It i also more difficult to change your allocation rather than altering your gear.

So as a tank, go all vitality.

If you are looking for the next "tier" then its easier to do it by swapping to a different accessory, rather than spend the 10k for a hymn every time.
