WHAT AM I WEARING?!

This by far is the most frustrating feature of the game and if it's just something obvious that I'm missing please help me to look for the visual ques that I am not seeing.

When throwing away/selling/trading with a retainer a piece of equipment I can't tell which are assigned to one of my many equipment sets. Does it say somewhere on the info screen if the item is part of a set or not?

I don't see any icon on the gear to tell if it's in use for some class that I'm not currently equipped as.

I'm sick and tired of the entire set becoming broken if only one item is not in my inventory. I tried to keep as much stuff on me as possible to just avoid the issue but now I just have so much stuff that I need to get rid of the extra weight.

Do I literally need to write down every piece of gear that I'm wearing before clearing inventory space or is there some trick to this that I'm just too dumb to see?

I have the same problem. idk how many pieces of gear i have vendored/retainered/or melded not knowing i was actually using it....LOL

As far as I know, this is what you have to do.

Definitely needs some kind of notification of items currently equipped in a saved gear set.
I swapped over to my Dragoon to do a fate and she had no pants on! Crafting professions is worse.

Sadly, there is not any sort of visual cue that tells you what piece of armor belongs to a set.
The best you can do is "Display Set" to show you what gear is assigned to a certain gear set, but even then that doesn't help too much :/

Agreed this is an issue and I believe a dev addressed it and said they would be adding some way to tell if an item is part of an equipped set or not. Theres nothing worse than leveling a class for a little while then get busy with something else for a week or 2 then go back to that class only to realize you no longer have all of your gear.

Stuff that I'm using in a set is in my inventory. Stuff that I'm not using is my inventory or retainer. I'm not really sure what the problem is...?

Honestly, I have all my gear sets memorized... but at the same time, my gear sets are categorized, so it's not that hard to remember them: White Mage DL, White Mage AF, Dragoon DL, Dragoon AF, Warrior DL, Warrior AF, etc., etc...
