Whats the point of +str +dex equipment if it doesnt affect my overall attack and acc?

So today I was wondering whether I should equip my Kokoroon's Darkshell Mail or my vintage hauby.

Im a lancer with a Bannerret Lance+1. Without any chest armor I have:

180 attack, 146 acc.

With kokoroon's Darkshell Mail I have:

185 attack, 151 acc

With vintage hauby I have:

180 attack, 146 acc.

So whats the point of the Vintage hauby +stats if they dont affect me at all? whats the point of it having a nice +8str +4 dex? Also..why do I have less hp when equipping a vintage hauby (its only 20- hp but it bugs me as to why its being deducted).

It does affect your atk and acc, but very minisculey so.

It won't show up as an increase in the "atk" and "acc" stats, though.

The stat formulas suck. Hopefully they improve with the battle adjustments.

Rule of thumb:

If you're tanking, wear iron cuirass, iron celata, and the other iron full plate armor.

If you're DDing and not getting hit, wear Kokoroon and the Conquistador Elmo, etc

If you're DDing and getting hit by AOE TP attacks, wear a combination of both.

And stats-wise, keep STR and DEX at around 80+, MND at around 40-ish (more if you need more MP), PIE at around 40-80ish, and as much as you need into VIT to stay alive. Melee classes have no use for INT.
