Dear Yoshi Claus, All I want for Starlight Celebration is Fantasia

Hey all. I know the subject matter of allowing players to have more access to the Phial of Fantasia has been mentioned and addressed before, most notably in the following thread ( http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...the-Mogstation ). The developers where nice enough to answer that thread that they want to offer more in the future which has given hope to some players. However as of yesterdays Live Letter the details of when Fantasia will be available still seem a long ways off.

Maybe this idea has already been planned but now with the announced planned release date of 2.1 and the Starlight Celebration coming this would be a prime time to offer some Fantasia to the player base.

With all the seasonal events thus far the rewards fall short of being anything meaningful to the community. They are fun, give us a little diversion from the typical MMO activities for awhile, and the city decorations are a nice change of visuals. But the costume rewards lose their appeal in time (except maybe the bikini) and generally will end up wasting inventory space and un-used. And again from the live letter we know that in the Starlight Celebration we’ll be getting yet more costumes. While that is fun and a nice little gesture why not add in a few more optional rewards?

Would it be too much of a problem to add in a quick quest of some over festive Lalafell upset that there is no more Mistletoe to decorate with and must get some as soon as possible! If you help him he has a selection of rare items he’s willing to part with, quest rewards could be fantasia, a vanity pet, and what ever. Maybe your Grand Company needs to out decorate the other Grand Companys and request to fetch mistletoe, holly, fruit cake, and egg nog??

If not a quest of some sort, how about just a vendor that will take these holiday like items? Collect x amount of candy canes for this or that.

Granted, I do know that the coding and all does take time and the event is only about two weeks away but it’s just some thoughts that in theory seem like it would be completely doable and not be game breaking in any way. Plus make the events a little more relevant and meaningful, I for one was disappointed that I couldn’t get one of those floating ghosts as a pet in the Halloween one.

And finally, just given the season and theme of Starlight plus the added hype of 2.1 and all it’s brining. Why not just give the players one as holiday cheer and a new you for the new content? The only issue with this as opposed to the quest is for those players already happy with their characters look.

Just some thoughts, please feel free to share or support. Even if not fantasia it would still be nice to get more than costumes for these events.

Funny story;

I was a Taru in XI from NA release til I quit when Abyssea dropped. I was a Lala from Alpha v1 til Servers went down. I was a Lala from CB XIV:ARR til a couple months ago. So why did I become just another Man Kitty? One thing I hated from XI to here is having a midget Chicken. I loathed it. I felt the same way here. Now I love having a bigger Chicken, but I miss what I've been all these years, and even though I hate the fact that my Chicken will always be mini, I have realized it's something I can deal with. /ImissmyLalacry

That is another thing I've had issues with. Nothing game breaking for me, but if you think about it, logically Lalafells would have to swap out chocobos every few months unless there was some drawf breed of chocobos out there. Also on the video and cover they have the facebook page the WHM Lalafell seems to be riding a regular sized chocobo and her jumping up and down on it and all just adds to the Lalafell's cute appeal.

Slightly larger ones for Roe is more logical than the mini ones for Lalafells.

Lalafell chocobos were always the smallest. And even the Chocobo from the WHM lalafell in the video you mentioned, is the smallest in the group
