while i totally agree that every mage should have swiftcast, as it is an invaluable ability, its not going to make the difference in a win or loss vs. titan in this instance. If people in your party are continually eating plumes to the point that you need swiftcast to counter their HP loss, your party is not going to beat titan.

I think the point is to be ready to Raise someone if they mess up.

Ideally, no one would mess up. But mistakes happens, people get up, fight goes on. When I've got my Relic I was raised after the heart. Just waited for Gaol and accepted.

Like I said on my previous posts, you only need at least 4 people who knows what they are doing post heart. When I'm healing, I really don't rely on the other healer. At times when the other healer gets knocked off, instead of me losing hope, it will motivate me to play better (maybe use expensive food or expensive meds). It's just satisfying to know that I went above and beyond to get an unexpected win. Sometimes I try to keep that bad player/dodger alive just for less chance of me getting Gaol'd.

i feel for the OP. i remember being stuck on Titan for my BRD for a month. of course, i spent far too much time in DF but that was to learn the mechanics enough to where i could bring something to the table to a pug. then again, my pug experience for that fight isnt much better. but thankfully, one day i saw a shout in Mor and BAM, Titan kill. sadly, i knew that going through that again for my WHM would be such a turn-off. again, weeks of DF/Pugs and weeks of wiping. i ended up 'buying' my WHM Titan kill in the end. but i would never pay hard earned gil for a fight that i knew inside and out but was limited only by finding those magic 7 ppl that were geared enough and knew how to dodge. instead of money i used a Garuda Feather i had received from my countless speed runs for tomes.

Swiftcast generally won't be used on plumes. Most likely if someone is hit on p5 its a one shot. What it is exceptional for is getting an emergency heal off during stomps p5 so you don't fall behind before plumes fire off. Especially if the tank takes a big mountain buster hit or you're a bit late on a cast. It smooths over a rotation.

OP, finish off the rest of your Darklight gear.

You are at 50 and rocking a level 38 bracelet, which while not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things, will give someone else ammo to turn you down for a run. I wouldn't even give them that opportunity. Spend an hour for a few more Philo tomes and upgrade the rest of your jewelry or just buy the level 49 HQ stuff off the market. WP drops a nice shield too for WHM's that I would consider worth going after. I personally think you are geared just fine for Titan (and I've seen much, much worse), but there are definitely people out there who will see that bracelet and think you are just slacking.

After that, it's a matter of how lucky you are to find at least 3-4 other people who know how to survive post-heart. Every time I've beaten Titan, half the party is dead, so just keep joining shout groups. Don't bother with DF, since it's apparent you seem to know the fight.

Also, OP, idk if this has been stated already or if you already have this setting, but it helped me tremendously when I switched from the standard controls to "legacy" controls. I try and convince other people in my party to use legacy controls as well. It'll enable you to run backwards as opposed to slowly back peddling.

exactly this, if you are a whm and not swiftcasting medica during stomps in p5 you are doing it wrong.
