The reason the HQ cocoons and such are dropping real fast is that any crafter that wants to make 2-star gear is SO overpowered that using NQ materials is good enough. If you simply reach the materia caps in your jewelry as a crafter and use the 1-star gear, you can HQ all the Twinthread and Darksteel Nuggets from NQ materials easy.
It doesn't need to be replaced. Ever. And I can say from experience, FC's are handling a lot of this aspect of the game. I make anything and everything I can for FC members. Never looking at market boards.
