Sell shards from vendors

Why can we not just buy shards from crafting vendors?

Shards are what feeds rmt they bot and sell the shards to the crafters as the primary source of money. If you do not think so check the listing for the shards same names I report underground mining selling thousands per day. After crafting to lvl 15 I noticed I was running low on shards attempted mining and wanted to fall of a building after 2 hours, what did 2 hours produce about 30 mins worth of crafting, not worth it. selling shards from vendors would increase the number of people who craft and those who like gathering mining without bots could still sell everything else.
so why not sell shards from vendors who would this hurt beyond the botters?

RMT just have to sell them 1gil lower than NPCs.
Maybe people should boycott those retainers but… eh, people don't like thieves but are always the first to buy stolen goods for a lower price.

i don't get this OP, what difference would it make. The RMT's would just sell the shards cheaper on the AH anyway, and if you removed shards from the AH (market, whatever) then ppl would still just buy Gil from the other thousand things there are to farm. IMO the sellers shouldnt have proxys, so at least I know im buying it from a cheater.

Great move, let's kill shards and fuck up the market.
Because you know, selling shards by npc it's a pointless move: RMT will simply jump to something else to make proficts. What's your plan then, selling every item in the game by npc ?

I'd rather share gathering nodes that are instanced to individuals with RMTs than have to compete killing mobs for fleece with a RMT bot.

Just a fore thought though, if you really want stop the sell of RMTs one step that actually would make it more difficult is maybe have something set that once (x) amount of accounts have black listed a player retainers linked to that account are pulled off the marketplace for a set amount of time or even have the account temporarily closed. Of course I'm sure the spammers and sellers are two separate accounts, but who knows, but any legit player shouldn't be getting black listed really.

I'm pretty sure shards aren't the only items that can be farmed and sold.

For this to work you'd need to take your shard idea and apply it to every item.

Well the shard market has practically tanked on my server, you can buy shards for next to nothing so who needs to buy them from an NPC? Your other option is a DoL class to shard farm. Best part is your shards are practically free ( - repair cost on gear). Sure farming your own shards is a time sink but so is crafting.
