Certain Jobs Will Always Be Better

I see a few people getting upset because they can't do every single event at optimal levels with their chosen job.

There's always going to a certain build that does a bit better in any given fight or dungeon.
In WoW everything is the same. Just hit a button and GtG.


In FF MMO's there's differences. You can also level any job you want, and in this game it's ridiculously easy to do so.
I just hit 50 on all classes, and in what a few months? Working on 6th relic, there's no reason besides unwillingness and lack of effort for anyone to not have multiple 50s by 2014.

Yoshi has already thrown out;
~Elemental weaknesses
~Blunt/piercing/slashing weakness mobs
~Individual LB's

And I for one would like to keep some level of difference between jobs before we're all just reskined models of the same DPS job.

Yes BLM,BRD,PLD,WHM are great for a very certain build in one dungeon,

I remember when MNK & DRG were the hot item for demon wall, and 2x BRD was crap in AK. MNK & DRG will be the most sought after again for some other new event, and maybe BLM and BRD won't be wanted. Things will always rotate. This game has done a good job at keeping things as close as possible, but has already thrown out iconic FF mechanics (elemental weaknesses, individual LBS)

Enjoy your jobs, play with skill, you might have a harder time, you might do WP in 18 mins vs. 12 mins, but it's your choice.

This is coming from someone who main classed SMN for 5 years in FFXI at 75.
Do you love your current class more then getting fast invites? Then stay as is, but don't get upset because your not always the hot ticket.

I played WoW to 90 after 1.0.

It was extremely homogenized. But you can only pick one class, so that makes sense. Fortunately we don't have to deal with that in XIV since you can level all Jobs.

Yep and even with "balanced" people will still prefer certain job over other job to do other things i.e. WP. Now does that mean it's not possible to do it with other jobs? Nope, but that's beside the point. I do miss the elemental wheel, which should be a main reason to play blm, and weapon type resistance. Here's to hoping they'll be more prominent later on.
