Suggestion to counter players dropping party in Trials (hard).

Right now, I'm noticing a large amount of players dropping parties after a first wipe.

This means that the penalty for dropping a party is not effective. As a result, new players have a hard time progressing. However, I can put myself in their shoes and understand their decisions if they mean to maximize their time to grind what they need. This is why I think raising the penalty timer would not be the best solution.

What I suggest probably takes a lot of development and might not be considered because of that but I'm trying my luck:

No doubt that FFXIV has some player metrics/Tracking that tracks how many times players have done a specific Duty. This could be used to create a matchmaking system when people are queuing for Trials or other duties from the Duty Finder.

From the character window, players could identify themselves as either "Helpers" or "Grinders" (maybe with some sort of check box).

The matchmaking system would team Grinders with people that have already completed the Duty many times to make sure they're in an experienced party. This would make their player experience better.

The matchmaking system would team Helpers with players that haven't completed the Duty many times, to make sure that newer players are teamed with patient players that are willing to help. This would make the newer players' experience better.

An incentive would need to be created to encourage players to become Helpers, such as items, tomes, gils, or other, that would be awarded after completing a duty as a Helper.

If people have comments or suggestions to add, please do so.

    Thank you for reading.
