    Maybe there's something I'm missing but...

    Why the heck do I see people attaching stuff like Fire/Lightning materias on crafting gear? I have every craft at 50 and I've seen no reason to do so. Is there something I'm missing?

    They're doing it to spiritbond the items faster. Melded items bond faster than unmelded ones.
